A lot of it, yeah. Some of it's songs which were in the Top 40 when I was a kid; some of it's more towards the indie side of thgins, such as The Smiths and The Monochrome Set. Also Madness and XTC.

considering I lived through it...yes...;)
And after 10 years of 70s music (especially disco at the end), anything would have been an improvement...;)

That's a pretty nice list.

Yeah, the majority of the music I listen to is from that decade. There's just something about the production values and songwriting from that era I think I'm in love with.

The 80s get a bad rap, though. There's a lot more to that decade than hair metal and Huey Lewis and the News. I think more and more people are starting to realize that. Slowly.

Yes, except for the heavy metal music. Too loud for me.

On these I concur:

Love and Rockets "No New Tale to Tell" (1987)
The Stone Roses "I Wanna Be Adored" (1989)
Camper Van Beethoven - Telephone Free Landslide Victory
Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden

add to that

Julian Cope - Fried (yeah, the entire album)
The Chameleons UK - Swamp Thing
Bauhaus - In The Flat Field (song and album)

Yeah, there are others in your lists, but these struck me, namely because "no new tale" was one of my favorite songs growing up....Camper Van Beethoven had some of the most brilliant lyrics of all time..and I didn't think anyone else had ever heard of The Spirit of Eden album. And "I Wanna Be Adored" just holds some good memories for me....

And I would have also picked Current 93 but I only ever had one of their albums...and I forgot the name...and I was worried someone would want to talk about it with me and I would have to claim ignorance.

The earliest material is harsh tape loops and chanting, not at all similar to their more popular "neo-folk" period. I'll admit Thunder Perfect Mind is a great album, perhaps their best, but the period I find most consistently enjoyable is the material up until and including Imperium.

I like 80s music. Speaking about this, I'm into alot of old skool music (60s, 70s, 80s).

I think I had Earth Covers Earth

I don't know if it was their best, but it had some powerful, haunting sounds. Liked it a lot.

That's from quite early on in their neo-folk period. I highly recommend Thunder Perfect Mind.

At least 90% of my music collection is from the 80s, BOTH mainstream and alternative, so go figure! 8)
