Which Harry Potter book is the best? I like the fourth myself.

Must've been a glitch. I could've sworn I put Deathly Hallows on the list. Oh well, too late to change it now.

Well if it was up there I would vote for Deathly Hallows. While being the conclusion to the overall story it also had it's own isolated story about the Deathly Hallows )with other new mysteries that would eventually be solved) and I think that made it more extra intriguing was the unexpected inclusion of Dumbledore's backstory even though Dumbledore was already dead (a backstory that showed what a really complexed and very non-cliched person he was) and how it proved not only to be the key in defeating Voldemort but to prepare Harry for the sacrifice he would have to make and all the emotions that go with it. Of course I kept thinking to myself "wouldn't it have made sense if Dumbledore had informed Harry that he has to die but would still survive it anyway?" But then the whole theme of the book (and perhaps the overall series) is that death is something we all have to face someday and unlike what Voldemort had done throughout the entire series we shouldn't fight our own mortality. I also liked how alot of little things from previous books show up back in this one and turn out to be very important clues for finding the Horcruxes and finishing off Voldemort. The battle was truly an epic array of emotions, events, and realizations. The second time I read the book was when I cried. It's a beautiful way to not only end the story but to also answer all your questions with amazing and some even beautiful revelations. I've read this book more times than any other in the series. I sometimes compare it to the series finale of Lost. Deathly Hallow in the final chapter put that final episode of Lost to shame on all accounts.

I only read up to the Half-Blood Prince (wow - that was six years ago?!). I think my favourite was Order of the Phoenix, followed closely by Goblet of Fire.

I am shallow, deathly hallow. I just saw the movie, and it was epic. It was a bit different than the book, then again, I read the book a long time ago so...I don't remember much.

Err Philosophers Stone thank you very much.
My favourite is probably Order of the Phoenix, followed by Prisoner of Azkaban and then Chamber of Secrets.

Of course the entire book series is notable for its writing, how every plot thread is resolved and the way Rowling integrates folklore into her world is just enthralling.

Added Deathly Hallows to the poll. I asked me sister and she couldn't make up her mind. The last book i read was the 6th one so that'd be my default.

What's the one where he's a wizard and doing wizard stuff?

I don't like that one.

Goblet of Fire. It had the best plot in the series and a very good twist. M. Night Shyamalan could have learned a few much needed things about plot twists by reading that book.

Besides, that was when things got serious.
