Looking forward to starting my next batch of album buying :P I'm gonna concentrate on Judas Priest, The Scorpions and Genesis. Does anyone have some recommendations for the best albums by those bands? Also gonna get REM- Document, Fables Of Reconstruction and Life's Rich Pageant. Wanna get some more Black Sabbath and David Bowie stuff too and Smashing Pumpkins- Gish.

This is what I have from those artists

Judas Priest- Hell Bent For Leather, British Steel

The Scorpions- Best of

Genesis- From Genesis To Revelation

REM- Murmur, Reckoning, Dead Letter Office, Eponymous, Green, Out Of Time, Automatic For The People, Monster

Black Sabbath- Black Sabbath, Paranoid

David Bowie- Ziggy Stardust

Smashing Pumpkins- Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness.

Painkiller is probably Judas Priest's best album and it's very hard rock. If you like more melodic rock Black Sabbath made a couple of great cd's called The Eternal Idol and Headless Cross.

REM- Reveal (My favourite REM album)

David Bowie- Hours/Outside/Reality.

Smashing Pumpkins- Siamese Dream/Machina 1 & 2/Adore

that should keep you going ^.^

Genesis "Nursery Cryme". It's Gabriel-era Genesis. Brilliant album. :D

Get These:

Judas Priest - Unleashed in The East, Screaming For Vengeance -- Both from their musical peak.
Scorpions- Lonesome Crow --Scorpions from 1972, before the screamy ballads.
Genesis - Seconds Out

Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality, Volume 4. You may also want to hunt down the unofficial 'Live At Last' from their 1973 UK Tour, and the Bootleg of their 08.05.75 Asbury Park, NJ show.

Is Unleashed In The East a live album? Yeah, The Scorpions only did 2 albums before they started with ballads and stuff didn't they? So Master Of Reality is a good album then? That was next on my list from them.

To answer your questions:
Unleashed In The East is a live album from their 1979 tour.
Yes about the Scorpions. --You can also hear some very slight 'Krautrock' influences on their first album.
Master of Reality is an EXCELLENT album, but Volume 4 is probably a bit more focused.
