hip hop is the main reason music is so dreadful at this time.

you know about liquid swords...the first wave of wu-tang albums = classic material

how about soul-less whiny metrosexual indie bands whose idea of creativity is limited to directly imitating musical styles from the previous century. music today is dreadful for a multitude of reasons

psych do you not rate roots manuva? he's one of my favourite uk artists in any genre

give it time.. most hip-hop threads on WP have consisted of 50% ignorant stereotyping. tbh i dont really have enough awareness of corporate rap to say much about it (i dont own a tv or use a radio) I just hear constant bitter underground references.



im sure hes got some good tracks, but not gotten round to listening yet. so many tunes, so little time

It appears they typically listen to the "underground rap" like MF Doom, Aesop "Crap" Rock, Immortal "Whining" Technique, Mos "Can't Act" Def. They don't realize most of it is just as awful as the "commercial" rap they seem to dislike. But it's "cool" because it's "underground."

The hip hop/rap that I own, I would say would be the alternative type. The last hip hop or rap album I bought was Nappy Roots and my favorite would be Tupac I admit, I don't have a clue when it comes to this kind of music.
I mostly listen to punk and classic rock, but I am defiantly not some emo, metrosexual and I really don't listen to many of those bands, but I wont generalize, because that would be just as bad as me generalizing hip hop and rap.
