8O eeek...

I get really tired just thinking about it.
We got our occupancy permit day before yesterday....

Here is a copy of the mass-e-mail Flakey just sent out.

Howdy folks, we now return you to our regularly scheduled program! Yep, we finally got our city occupancy permit, so we are "officially open!", like really official and everything! It has been a long, painful ordeal, but we made it, and we couldn't have done it without the help of so so many generous folks who genuinely seemed to not want to live in a world without a Super Happy Fun Land. I'm talking about the folks who donated lots of time, money, and hard hard work to the cause, and there were a lot of them. Right now before we get to our awesome upcoming schedule of events, I'd like to thank a few of them... First of all thanks to Faramarz Eisivand who finally got us through this process, if anyone ever needs that kind of help, look him up, you won't regret it, he is truly the Obi-Wan Kanobi of contractors. Thanks to The Cave Reverend and to Gregor Sampsa for their very generous contributions, thanks to Notsuoh, Numbers, and the GBLT Community center for letting us hold benefits, Thanks to Omar & the Free Press for all their help, thanks to the Houston Aspies, & to Spencer, Timmy, Stephin, Alfred and (the late)Billy Bud and the rest of our volunteers for all the free (or at least super dirt cheap) labor, thanks to Jennifer Decker and TDU for their contributions, as well as Austin Cooley & Carol Kelley & everyone else who donated cash and who donated art in support our art auctions (including auctioneer Dave Roy). Thanks to our parents (Mark and Susan Dvorak and Dan and Barbara Arthur) for their support, and thanks to Louie of course, and everyone else who helped out (and there are a whole lot of others) we couldn't have done it without you,

you guys are all really really really really really great! We are open again...

Yippie!

Ok, so as you can see from the schedule below, we don't have any shortage of folks who want to perform at the new and improved "official" Super Happy Fun Land, we are re-opening just in time for SXSW, so as usual, our bill is filled with touring bands from all over the world checking out the Houston scene. Well folks, you need to come out and show them that Houston is a really really great city for touring performers to visit! How you ask? Come watch them perform! Local bands, since we just re-opened two days ago, we are still trying to muster up some opening acts for these shows, so if you see a band on the calendar that you want to open for, let us know! The rest of you folks, we will see you at the show!

It is a weird position to be in...running a venue while having social and sensory issues...Now I am gonna be a busy nervous wreck for the undetermined future.....I will be needing lots of ear plugs and ADD and anxiety meds...

Anywhoo..if any of you musicians happen to be in bands who tour, you ought to hit us up for a show.

Yep...
I have been frantically working on my cut-and-paste promotional materials and t-shirt design, in order to hopefully have them ready by our grand opening party tomorrow.....I feel that I will need to somehow find a way to regiment my every waking moment in order to keep my end of the place together...eeeee 8O I have it rather worked up in my mind at the moment....overwhelmed.....

Flakey has been booking bands nonstop since the moment we were issued our occupancy permit.....

I wish there were several more-efficient versions of me here to help....

We had our first "official" show. It took getting drunk in order for me to deal with the people, and whatnot, but all in all, it went well. We made money.
I am gonna do a chart of bottle cap counts for every show....Rarrrwr...so much cleaning to do!! !

Yegads!

Hey Fogman, you are from S. Carolina...do you know Charlie McAllister?
