Somebody write some poetry

Ive recently become quite interested in writing poetry. Ive always been really into analysing litarature but never been into writing. I wont bother with short stories or essays, cos i would always lack the attention span to carry on after a few paragraphs (my final year thesis was the most painful thing i did in the past year).

So it brings me to poetry. Short and sweet, a form of expression. The things is, although i like to analyse poetry, ive never been a fan of reading them for enjoyment. But im becoming more interested, may even become an obsession !

So guys, i know theres a lot of people here who love to pen their thoughts and feelings. I'd like to see your work.

out of the darkness
into the light
life ends
death begins
but life and death is all the same
and now life ends
and death greets with a warm welcome

I have an account on DeviantArt with a LOT of poetry on it here. There's some good, some bad, and some ugly. Well, the "ugly" are the pictures of me, not the poetry, but still....

Yes that was facetious but hard to resist nonetheless.

In the last five years I have written one poem, and I lost it when I moved into my new room

Here's one of mine. I wrote it in a foul mood, with only one other in mind, so if it doesn't make sense, that's why.

Invisible Girl

Hair half out, half back, that’s me.
Solitary, near the library.
Smiling yes, smiling true,
But yes, I still fear you.


There in the crowd, head down, that’s me.
Blond, freckled face, transparent.
Smiling yes, smiling true,
But yes, I’m still seen by you.



Running past, in tears, that’s me.
That girl who everyone knows.
Crying yes, crying true,
But yes, I’m still noticed by you.


Brushing past you, bitter, that’s me.
That girl you seem to ignore.
Crying yes, crying true,
But yes, I’m still pushed aside by you.


That name you see, that face, that’s me.
A person, not a problem!
Special yes, special true,
But yes, I’m concerning you.


A flickering memory, a smile, that’s me.
That student you used to know.
Special yes, special true,
Was I just a name to you?

Heres sumat i rote today. It dosent have a name. Some of the anime/manga fans here mite get the metafor in the last line, but i dout it, cos thats a pretty obscure series as far as i can tell, never herd anyone talk about it anyway. I no nobody will get the main metafor that runs throogh the rest of the poem.



The storm clouds gather for months to pass
Over the peak in my heart.
The windswept path to my right, up the steep mountainside
Leads to hell and despair
While the one that heads downhill in the wrong direction will lead to guilty pleasure, and more despair.
The rock is at the precipice
The hard place is the valley floor.
The rain continues to pour on my frozen, hilly wasteland of a soul.
Yaegashi, I’m your Kazuna.

I write a little bit... though recently I've been in a bit of a block trying to finish the last of a three-song story. Yuss, I usually write stories in the form of song, many of which are somewhat ambiguous, others of which are quite straight-forward, and many of which have to do with my furry characters. woooOOOOOoooooh! dark-ish-y XD anyway, I'd like to recommend to the readers of my dA gallery "I Couldn't Have Been Happier," "Fugitive," "kitsune no hikari," and for those of us who don't mind something of a more dirty nature, "Let Go." Those are my favorites of my own work right now.

And if you don't like songs and prose and poetry, then I have art and photos to look at too ^__^

OHHH! he was kidding, I assure you. I'm sorry you took that literally. He was playing off the fact you seem to come on hard, as if to say, "I only listen to metal and nothing else is worth my time." He meant no offense, I'm sure.

And I know IRON MAIDEN isn't HAIR METAL. I quote myself:
I was referring to the mentioning of metal hair bands, which combined two genres which you mentioned.

hecate? you mean when you said Pixies suck because they play "pop," (which they don't, mind you) and she gave you a Chinese burn, and then you laughed at her and called her childish, and she frowned and said she was only trying to be friendly? I actually thought you were being the (censored) there. But that's just me. I kinda lost interest in the battle and moved on; I don't like confrontations. No one has posted there since :-\
