I still enjoy Classic Rock - LZ and NIN and so on, but lately I am into lots of Inde/Alt Rock but still picky about my tastes.

Anyone else have this going on ever?

TIA

Frosty

I love Indie and Alternative rock. What sort of bands do you like?

I listen to The Killers, the Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, that sort of stuff.

Thanks - I have a lot at the moment - about 500 songs plus. Favs are Chevelle, My Chemical Romance, Offspring, A Perfect Circle, Hawk NElson, Anberlin, Breaking Benjamin, Hawthorne Heights, Jimmy Eat World and some of Green Day. I don't like it too hard or too easy - my taste is sorta weird. Oh and Rob Zombie is okay at times.

Frosty, NIN aren't classic rock.

As for the topic, I listen to loads of alternative. Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, and the White Stripes

uh... yeah..don't make me feel older than I am...;) Classic rock is like Zepplin, Beatles, Stones, Journey, Spreengstein, etc...;)

I like a lot of alternative music when it came out, but I have a hard time finding anything not corporate on the radio...

My top-rated indie rock albums
My top-rated alternative rock albums (basically all the "indie rock" albums and a bunch of others)

(also note that I've only filled in all the ratings as far down as four stars)

I've been listening to a ton of Lansing-Dreiden lately. Also in the last couple months I've gotten into Them Terribles, I've been liking that a lot.

Indie stuff like Jets to Brazil/Jawbreaker, Dinosaur jr/J Mascis, Helio Sequence, is all in the regular rotation, as well as some of the more mainstream early-mid 90s grunge/alt.

NIN is not classic but I guess I lump in - no one is like NIN - perhaps Rob Zombie approaches them - maybe.

LZ is the best band ever, hands down. To me Smashing Pumpkins are and evolutionary descendent of the Rolling Stones. I like all of Jouney's songs but never listen to them - same with Elton John or Fleetwood MAc its kinda weird.

I'm more on the indie side of alternative. I like stuff like The Thermals, Super Furry Animals, The Decemberists, Los Campesinos! and Drive-By Truckers

I guess a lot of what I like could be filed under indie/alternative. Going through my i tunes A-Z...

Abe Vigoda, Animal Collective, Au, Beirut, Black Dice, Dan Deacon, Department of Eagles, Jens Lekman, King Khan & BBQ, MIA, Marnie Stern, Max Tundra, Micachu, Mountain Goats, Of Montreal, TV On The Radio, Vivian Girls, Wave Pictures...

Thats an awful list, (and obviously not exhaustive). I guess I can give out my last fm if people pm me, although I do warn I'm not social on there...

I mostly listen to punk, not sure if people would call it alternative, but I do listen to some indie artists. Some of my favorite punk bands, I think most are independent. My favorite is Anti-Flag, some other would be, Bad Religion, NOFX, Bouncing Souls, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Pennywise, The Misfits, Thought Riot, Whatever It Takes, just to name a few bands I like.

Also love classic rock!! !

Well gonna go beta test some more “evil” rock n roll bands on Pandora.com – I found a few I really like, Acceptance and Finch and bunch of others.

Just heard this for the first time a couple days ago, it's one of the coolest chillest songs I've heard in a long time.
