I'm pretty sure this thread has pretty solidly proved that wrong.

As I said, its a lie, all lies. Its proven that 99.7% of gamers are men (as of a January 2008 study by Liberty University) and the other 0.3% are castrated and so have no sex. Many of this group wear wigs in order to appear female.

Anyone who can't take a joke  and thinks they are a forum nazi (Berserker) can ignore this post. :o

Do you count as a gamer if you only play a few outdated PC games or internet flash games? (Just not as a hardcore gamer?) :?

It's more of a state of mind. What games you play doesn't really matter. Of course, this also means that one is not neccessarily a gamer because one plays a game.

i'm a gamer-girl.
i've being playing since ping came out, and wolfenstein and the very first doom.

does anyone remember a game called chuck-rock or something? on sega-mega drive perhaps? i just liked the whole idea of a caveman dude taking things out with his belchy stomach. and rampage. that was cool.

i used to be crazy about driver, final fantasy, resident evil, goldeneye, perfect dark. i completely still am madly in love with N64. jetforce gemini and zelda are my all time favourite games. somebody gimme a jetpack please and tell that fuzzy little pink fairy to shut up.

now, I play a bit of sims, halo, and especially morrowind and oblivion. i like being any of the elven races.

Rampage was awesome. N64 was great for its time; now I look back at the "realistic" graphics and cringe. Maybe in 10 years I'll look back on Crysis and weep.

I'm a HUUUUGE gamer girl but I tend to only focus on Square Enix games like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. I just find the games so beautiful, it's what drew me into them in the firstplace. my very first games were on the SNES back when I was about 7-ish. I own like, 4 gaming systems and playing video games has actually influenced my career choice. I went from wanting to be a journalist to DYING to be involved in video game design or graphic design.

the games I absolutely ADORE are:

Kingdom Hearts 1, 2
Final Fantasy X-2
Final fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS)
Final Fantasy XII
Kirby: Canvas Curse (DS)
Warioware: Touched (DS)
Chrono Cross (PS1)

I've heard of WoW and Everquest, never showed any interest in either. I played Maple Story, a sort of girled up version of an MMORPG and I absolutely hated it. I'm more the "play alone" type, hence all the 1-player games on my list. lol.

My boyfriend's really into WoW though, so I might actually get a trial version for a bit and meet up with his character for some laughs and then delete it. XD

for me, it's more the beauty of the game, the smooth transitions from area to area and the attractiveness of the characters that draws me into gaming. my bf has pestered me about WoW's scenery being amazingly beautiful but I think he's just trying to coerce me into sighning up, rofl.

Try Oblivion... that's single player, but it'll give you a taste of western RPG's (as opposed to the JRPG's you listed)

PS: How can you list FFX2 without the original FFX?

lol because I haven't played FFX. I got X-2 without knowing it was a sequel. all i did was watch FFX cutscenes on youtube, which i don't count as "playing" the game

I guess I could find something in common with a gamer girl - but I'd rather seek someone that would get me to do other stuff instead facilitating my vices. The only problem is that I suspect that a girl that's really good at something worthwhile would probably look down on me for having games around; especially since I'm a graduate student past my mid-twenties - there are certain social expectations. . .

There was this girl in my muay thai class; she was so good technically she could kick my ass if I didn't keep her at bay - I'm not nor wasn't interested in her other than as a friend but that was more fun than gaming.
When I was in my late teens there was this neighbour girl I wanted to jam music with but I never spoke more than a couple words with her. The fact that both her parents and mine wanted to hook me up with her made things more awkward.
