Do any aspie males or females here have an EXTREMELY hard time keeping up conversation/chatter with the opposite sex? (or same, if thats your preference)

Yes, it's a pain in the a**. I get very nervous if it's a guy I'm really attracted to I come off as mute which is not me, but it can be the same to anyone.

I go blank when I'm nervous and it's the worst feeling.

Wow that's scary! I couldn't have said it better except, replace guy with girl. 8O :)

I can converse with the opposite sex without a problem, but if the conversation becomes romantic I seize up...

I have trouble starting the conversations and I am nervous the whole time but if they talk to me and stay there giving me a chance I'll think of something eventually and keep the conversation going or they think of it, mostly I can continue it once it starts.

The chatter thing well sometimes the girls I talk to don't speak to me so much as they prattle on endlessly about things that have no meaning to me so I get bored and wander off mentally even though they're attractive and we may have a lot in common sometimes they bore the paint of the walls.
