^I don't know, but Bumping and Grinding is when both partners are "humping."

I am a Lindy Hopper.

Love it to death. The music is the best too :)

The clip features some music and a "Jack & Jill" contest. That is, two dancers that haven't danced before and worked out a routine... all freestyle.

I started as a way to "tolerate" my tactile defensiveness, and just fell in love. I now do classes twice a week and even have danced "next to the band" in a few jazz concerts they have here. Basically I (and other lindy hoppers) get free entry into the concert if I dance in front of the crowd on the stage next to the band. (there is a big stage and an area they set aside just for this, apparently it "adds to the atmosphere" or some such.

Is the grind the one where the girl dances on the guy like he's a stripper pole? I started a thread about dancing a while back because I went to a club with a group and the girls in the group did this dance to me. I enjoyed it. :P I sucked at dancing though.

Yep. That's the one.

I can headbang... does that count?

The only time people have tried to make me dance is when I did some theater work. Tap dancing was especially brutal, and I had the smallest amount thereof...

I haven't danced since prom in HS... that was almost ten years ago...
I wasn't ever very good at it, but I still like it.
I'd like to dance with a nice girl... a nice romantic slow dance kind of thing...

But I'm never aware of dances like that... nor have a girl to be with for such... :(

something i just remembered about the theater gig... I remember having to dance primarily with this one woman in many of the scenes, and I delibrately forced myself to get to know her and get close to her so I wouldn't be uncomfortable whilst actually performing (and told her as such; she helped me through a lot of it). However, by the time it all ended, we both realized that we kind of liked the closeness we shared. It never went beyond that, though, as I still didnt work up the courage to ask her out...

Am I missing a joke? Why wouldn't I wear my trousers whilst dancing?

It's because grinding is akin to movements made during sex or something like that...

I guess the joke was in your pants pocket. Go get them and find it.

Am I the only one who nearly had a seizure on page 1 when the dude said techno-polka? Just the concept makes my brain hurt.

I don't get your humour. It seems cryptic, and I can't be sure whether you're insulting me or not.

^Sorry. I didn't know if you were trolling or not. Usually they randomly attack each thread with bad humor or personal attacks.

Can't be too careful.

If it helps, I've noticed you seem to have a consistent pattern of taking everything on the forum very literally, not just my jokes. I haven't been here long and have already seen you in multiple arguments that way - a couple of them with MissConstrue who also seems to be a bit touchy this morning.

Think about it... random dude dancing around like a maniac in front of a mirror with no pants on? That's funny. SNL wouldn't even be possible without that image.

^Need to be a little careful, this isn't the Adult Forum.
