I'm new

my interests are:

Battlebots/robot combat in general (I build and compete with them as a hobby. Right now I'm working on a robot called "Manbearpig")
Growing Carnivorous plants, cacti, and succulents
Chrono Trigger (hence the name Lavos)

also, I just got dreadlocks!!(I'm white with red hair the consistency of steel wool, so they look really awesome!)

Hi everyobdy, i am new to this forum so i will take some time now to talk about myself.
First of all, i am sort of reluctant to join any community of people believing to have a common ground because i've always considered myself to be unique, even with labels like autism applied to me.. that being said, i think i will have an easier time being understood by 'fellow' aspies then by most other people, so here goes..
I am a 22 year-old, 5'9 tall, blue-eyed single white male from the lovely country of Belgium. My interests are, but not necessarely limited to, Technology, Science and Music, with the focus lately shifting towards Science and especially Biology, Neurology and Evolutionairy Biology. I am currently planning to start a study of Biotechnology so i can play around with genes and cell chemistry in labs someday..
Well i gues this is enough as an introduction, i might also add that besides being an aspie i have slight schizophrenic tendencies, which are luckily treated almost completely with medication, just wanted to give a heads up about that

Me too! Welcome to the planet. I dig evolution. It's what I started grad. school in (evo/anthro). Good luck with your biotech. studies!

Hi, My name is Pam. I'm a person who falls in between Aspergers and the rest of them; that is my best assessment to date. I have a son on the Autism Spectrum who has taught me so much about myself. We are very similar aside from the size of our vocabulary. I'm here to learn more about why I feel the way I feel, why I've struggled and succeeded using the same skills, how to better help my son and just to say Hello.

I think I'm a lot older than many of you; judging by all the anime and funky pictures! I love all things alternative: from music to medicine. I'm embarassed to say I watch American Idol and I'm content to be by myself (well, not embarassed by that). Hard to do with an extrovert husband and 3 children! One of my goals is to develop my very casual acquaintances in to friendships. That has been difficult for me over the years. I tend to have 1 good friend at all times. We moved 3 years ago to another state and I haven't found that person yet. I think it is time! These past few years I've been immersed in helping my now 7 year old son navigate the world of regressive Autism. Seems people grow tired of you when your life is so focused on one thing. Sigh.

thank you for the welcome.

Hello, I'm John. Sorry for not having a signature or avatar yet. I'm 18 years old, and have joined under the suggestion of my psychologist. Though I am an NVLD patient, I have suffered a number of the same maladies that Asperger's patients do and therefore I was lended the suggestion.

Lets see, I'm from Illinois and attend college - I'm also a part time farm hand.

I'm studying to be an archaeologist and have an interest in history, particularly classical. I'm also a dorky science fiction fan :rabbit:

Thank you for having me aboard :)

Hi. My name is Stan. I'm a college student from Kentucky. It's been a while since I've been here. I'm glad to be back. Thanks to this site, I don't feel like such a weirdo anymore. It sucks feeling all alone. I hope to make some friends here and be a friend.

What college do you go to? I went to EKU, and worked near Berea College. It does suck feeling all alone. Welcome back.

I'll list things like a fact sheet. It is just easier for me.

I'm originally from Maryland, about 5 miles from Washington D.C.

I served in the Air Force as a munitions specialist during the 1st Gulf War. I spent my entire enlistment in Florida, but we did a lot of support for the war.

After that, I moved out to Idaho and went to university. Make a long story short, I got my BA in History with a minor in Chemistry. I have no regrets with that. Military history is a favorite subject of mine.

I am currently a seed analyst, but if I could quit that job tomorrow I would. The job itself is ok, but the favoritism and discrimination has gone on way to long and way to much.

Get me out hiking, stargazing, or anything away from civilization and I am happier. The beauty in nature is astounding and I can't get enough of it. The wind through the trees, the sound of rain or running water, or the colors of a sunset move me deeply inside.

I don't have any pets, but if I did I like all animals, though dogs are my favorite.

Gaming is my main past-time. I have been a gamer since I was 14. I expect to do that until I die.

Music is therapy to me. I can't play a note (nor read it), but I listen to it daily. Classical, rock, easy, metal, and bits of other things here and there. The 70's and early 80's had some awesome music as far as I am concerned.

This is enough for an intro. I will post a more detailed blog of myself in a week or so. I like WP. I feel normal here.
