I have always seemed to attract the selfish users/narcissists. I'm slowly getting away from these types of people though.

I think the type of people you attract has a lot to do with the type of personality you have, and the "vibes" you send out.

I am also a mix of metal-head/computer nerd and with some comic book and gaming in me as well. I would be in heaven fi i found a girl with the same personality and hobbies, but i always seem to attract chavs or girls who pretty much drink and smoke to excess, do nothing but go out clubbing and work at a till, no ambitions or interest in life and simply conform to everyone else. It's a big turn off for me.

Discounting the false starts, and a couple stalkers, I've had an interesting collection of mates:

High School
1. F/17yo - Consoled her after her boyfriend (and my best friend) went crazy on heroin and vanished without a trace. Went out for 4 mos, then discovered that for last 2 mos, my friend had come back, and she had been sleeping with him.

Military
2. F/20yo - Internet acquaintance became mostly long distance relationship. Eventually I called it off because of #3.
3. M/22yo - Fellow solider became off-and-on bunkmate. Fell madly in love, but just before I confessed my feelings, he told me he was totally in love with some other guy, and was leaving the military for him. Spend next 2-3 years in depression that eventually ended my military career.
4. M/27yo - Started online, liked me mostly because I looked remarkably like a guy he liked who dumped him. Mental and sexual abuse. Had mental breakdown and finally got courage to leave.
5. M/18yo - Sweet guy, but I was too wrapped up with #3, so we split up when he went to college.

College
6. M/24/yo - He was too interested in other guys, and wouldn't take it seriously. So I called it off. Spent next 2 years learning how to like myself without having to be in a relationship.
7. F/24/yo - Madly in love. Against all odds, she got pregnant. Dropped my second major and graduated early to find work so we could get married and raise our kid. She miscarried. We tried to make it work, but we fell apart. Emotionally devestated over next 3 years, but went back to school to study Art.
8. F/23/yo - Mainly physical relationship. Discovered increasingly that she was quite insane. One night she showed up drunk, kissed me passionately, asked me why none of the guys she was presently sleeping with took her seriously (*ahem*), insisted that I thought she was fat, and left sobbing... without my saying a word. Conveniently lost her phone number.

I've been out of college for 2 years now, live alone with my pet chinchilla, and I'm finally over #7, but I do NOT date. The only social scene where I am is the bars - and music venues with kids a decade younger than me. LOL If it weren't for bad luck with partners, I'd have no luck at all! ^_^

And for some bizarre reason, gay Hispanic guys seem to find me utterly irresistable. I have no earthly idea why. But any time I go into a gay bar and there is a group, one of them ALWAYS approaches me. But they don't do anything for me. Anyone have any idea what they'd want with a tall, skinny, white kid with glasses? o_O

I like guys that can be sweet and listen to me when I need reassurance. I also like guys that are loud, talkative and have big personalities and are just fun to be around. Appearance wise, I'm drawn to lots of things. I've liked guys with blonde hair, blue eyes. Pale skin and dark hair. I've liked guys with deep, deep chocolate brown skin and dark hair. I've liked asian guys. Mexican guys. Indian guys. Whatever. It really depends on the individual.

Unfortunately, I tend to attract girls. I have no idea why, but only two people have told me they like me as more than a friend, and they were both girls. Sigh.
Little note: I have no problem with homosexuality, I support gay marriage. I'm just personally not gay.

Tell me about it... in high school the only people that ever showed interest in me were guys, and that was only because I was completely incapable of getting a girlfriend even though I was straight, and I later found out that these guys were making fun of me...

In my opinion, LGBTQQAPD people are great,
but I am not gay.

I do support gay marriage .
