So yes, romance has died, along with every other ideal other than those 3 - for my generation at least.

Here's hoping that my generation doesn't blow up the world because most of us are a bunch of dumbf*ck morons.

I understand perfectly why you're bitter...... just so long as you remember that "most people" doesn't mean the same as "all people" 8)

Society changes all the time. Therefore, the way people form relationships and relationships themselves have changed too. It's not dead, it's just different.

What is your age bracket/generation?

I maintain that you quit pointing your finger at your generation and look at your parents, or the Baby Boomers. What a sad, greedy irresponsible lot they were. did i mention selfish to the nth degree.

Currently they are the ones in charge of this pathetic opportunity of a world we all live in.

What you judge about your peers is simple apathy.
TRAINED APATHY.

change your world!

Ditto that. Personally I like the fact that people are more about having a good time, being real and grounded, I tend to overload real bad off that mushy head-in-the-clouds crap though I don't mind it when its emotionally and expressively there but the rest is real grounded (emotion, yeah, trying to take your whole reality into emotion - blehk, its like getting syrup poured over your head and having OCD that's not a good time).

I think the only real negative I'm seeing in this world is that sheer opportunism is on the rise, people aren't even hiding it anymore that well, society endorses cheating, and if a guy does want to be romantic and treat a girl right....pfff.....he's in for some real hard times. No diss to women though, I get it, its just part of genetic programming and the human condition. Its kinda sad though that humanity is all wired to act like complete douchebags when it comes to relationships even though we're educated and smart enough to be engineers, build spaceships and skyscrapers, cure some of the most baffling diseases, pettiness is one of those things that baffles the hell out of me on that end too though...

Seanybaby: I didn't mean Aspies... in fact, Aspie's is the anti-drug, if anything. :P

Nuntar: When I said most people... I meant NTs.

SB2: I'm 14. I'm talking about teenagers. Our prejudice is that we're all a bunch of druggy, moody, violent sex-addicts that are anti-everything.

I'm tired of being compared to a homeless junky who has sex for crack money. I'm TIRED of it! At my highschool, we got yelled at by our principal the other day before the pep rally. Why? Because half of the students, after the last dance, went out on the streets after midnight and started being wreckless and getting stoned and drunk. Several parents coplained of students coming back f*cked up at 4 in the morning. And apparently, because of a few students, we're ALL guilty, and we ALL need to be punished, and ALL of our parents needed to be called because we ALL got high, and we ALL got drunk, and we ALL destroyed property, etc! I'm lucky that my mom knows that I'm not one to do that, or I'd still be grounded!

It's a bunch of NT morons who think that it's okay to destroy themselves, which vindict all of us students with a bit of sanity, NT or otherwise!

You watch TV, and you watch, say, the OC, and all of them do drugs and have sex and are deliquents and blah blah blah.

Sadly, it's a true stereotype. Most of the people I talk to, when I bring up the subject, they mention how much pot they smoked the day before. It's the majority, these morons.

I'm glad I'm in the minority, and I'm tired of being seen as another pot smoking teenager.

And why aren't the parents ever at fault? Lately, parents have NO responsibility whatsoever. It's always the school's fault, or the goverment's fault. Big example? Kids and M rated games. The government is blaming video game companies - but the video game companies aren't buying the games! THE PARENTS ARE! If parents would take the God damned time to listen to their kids, then they'd be able to actually keep them out of trouble!

I asked my mom if I could have GTA: San Andreas. She said that first she'd have to RESEARCH IT, then, if she thought I could HANDLE the content, she'd get it for me. That's what she did when I asked to go see Sin City, and as a result, I didn't get it, because she found it too innapropriate for me. I've seen R-rated movies, yeah - on my mom's approval.

And I DO own San Andreas - ironically, I don't play it for the violence, I play it because of the freedom it gives you. My mom knew that I wouldn't be sucked in by the violent parts of it, and that's why she allowed me to play it.

Most parents just buy the game, without even LOOKING at it first!

NO blame is placed on the parents anymore! Well, here's what I say:

The parents need to get some god damned SENSE in their small f*cking heads and WATCH AFTER THEIR F*CKING KIDS! If they did, there wouldn't be as many drug addicts that are 17 years old and having sex with a 16 year old that already had gotten pregnant a year prior!

To me romance IS dead. Unfortunately. I wish I was able to ressurect it because I've always thought that romance seemed like a beautiful thing.
I swear that if I ever found a nice girl, I would revive romance on the spot!

Romance is dead, love is dead and some say God too is dead.

yes i have to agree with you on the subject that romance has died.
all my generation wants out of girls is sex!
i wish we could go back in time and rekindle the flame that died out in the 40's. real love and commitment to a person.
I mean the 40’s weren’t the best years. I think that love died after WW II, because you had service men all over the world knocking up girls from places that they liberated, mainly France and Europe.
sorry i'm obsessed with WWII.

Now not to be off subject, but why are links to sex sites being advertised here? :?
