I'm happy for anyone who can get and maintain a relationship in this day and age, be they NT, AS, schizophrenic, whatever. I know it's wrong to generalize, but it does seem in this day and age that the notion of a proper, meaningful relationship, is becoming obsolete. In this I mean being in a mutually caring relationship, not the parasitic ones where people are only together for what they can get out of their partner, be it money, gifts, an ego-boost.

So, good on anyone who's in a proper relationship, for whoever you're with, whether you're a monogamist or a consenting polygamist, and however long it lasts.

What is considered a proper, meaningful relationship?

One in which exists mutual care, compassion and trust, where neither person has alterior motives. Unless you want to get philosophical? Listen, if I come across as preachy or incendiary to you then it wasn't my intention. Neither was I implicating anyone in this thread (just incase anyone inferred wrongly, as I myself often do!) I was only expressing my opinion. Peace.

And about 10 times as many men as women.

You weren't preachy at all. In fact, you got it just right.

Another factor is that many people on here aren't Aspies, they're friends or relatives of Aspies.

So you probably couldn't get an accurate sample of relationship statuses of people on here.

Well if you want a real idea just make a thread and make it a poll and make the options like this:
Quote:
Option 1: I am a straight single male and I have Aspergers
Option 2: I am a bisexual or gay single male and I have Aspergers
Option 3: I am a straight male in a relationship and I have Aspergers
Option 4: I am a bisexual or gay male in a relationship and I have Aspergers
Option 5: I am a straight single female and I have Aspergers
Option 6: I am a bisexual or gay single female and I have Aspergers
Option 7: I am a straight female in a relationship and I have Aspergers
Option 8: I am a bisexual or gay female in a reationship and I have Aspergers
Option 9: I do not have Aspergers and would like to view the results out of honest curiousity

It doesn't have to be exactly like that, but you get the point.

So they're 1,000 times more successful than we men are? Yeah, I believe it....

If so, there are probably other variables other than their gender.

You mean, bought her? No, seriously. No joke intended.

Btw Tim Tex, thanks.
