I would only say he's a jerk if you put what I've mentioned into practice and he explicitly refuses to change. I would still attribute the issues at hand to misunderstandings inherent in AS/NT relations...

Thanks for the replies which keep coming.
I haven't decided as yet what to do, it is obviously a sensitive subject and I need to be careful, and also choose the right time, if i decide to go ahead. I am aware that i could be wrong.
