Damn right. In fact I believe that if you really are in love with someone you wouldn't need the excuse of Valentines Day to do something romantic, in fact it's probably the day some guilty spouse overdoes it to keep the heat off them, or maybe even a day for last chances in flagging relationships. Think of it like that and all of a sudden all these 'happy' couples don't seem quite the ticket.
Personally the day makes me reflect on my lack of success as far as relationships go. It's part of our inate make-up that we want to be loved and to love, at the very least to keep the species going, to put it crudely. However, it doesn't make the day any easier, and I'm positive for every irritating small-ad and tacky heart-shaped gift there are several miserable souls raking over past failiures, or the fact they'll never perhaps enjoy the feeling of love.
I'll do my best to keep busy and ignore all the cobblers, but I know that in the idle moments during the day my heart will start to ache terribly, whether I want it to or not.
