You tell me there's a lot of fish
Swimming in The Deep Blue Sea
I'm gonna find me a pretty one
And She'll be good to me
But that's okay,
Tomorrow's gonna be another day
And I don't care what they say
Tomorrow's gonna be
Tomorrow's gonna be
Another day
Hey Hey Hey Hey!
Another day!

I think there are a lot of guys that I'm compatible with. All I have to do is go to the right places in order to catch my Fish.

One of the towns in the UK with most single women compared to single men is Telford. 2.6 single women for every single man. The borough of Telford has a population of 150,000. So, 75,000 females approx, and something like 30,000 were single women between the above ages. You can find these sort of stats on census websites.

I have been to Telford, spent a week there on my holidays in September (and it was before I found out the above stats). Women were literally falling in my lap. I wasn't there to look for a woman, but even as a shy, socially inhibited guy with AS symptoms I would have found a girlfriend immediately with no effort, had I wanted it or lived there.

VERY interesting. Just goes to show that statistics don't lie. In Telford, women will have a tough time finding a man; likewise in Ontario it is the other way around. I wonder what the statistics are like in New Jersey.

The 2006 census in Canada is being conducted in the next couple of months. I'll be interested to see if anything has changed since 2001.

I mean, it's true, there are plenty of other people out there.

You have to find them though, they won't find you.

Where ever she is, you'll find each other eventually.

My friends and family say there's someone out there for me. My rebuttal is that she lives in Japan and I'll never meet her.

As for me .....this saying is stupid and nonsense ....yea it s true that there 's a lot of ppl out there but finding a compatible person as life 's partner is not that easy like catching a fish ! ! Compatible fish are rare ..there s no plenty of them in the sea!

This saying is STUPID and a big LIE and it s used just to make loner singles to feel better!

I had many people tell me when I was in love with this one girl that I currently broke up with that there was or are other fish in the sea. I at the time didn't want to believe them because I thought I already found the one for me. Maybe I should just sit back and wait for the one true fish to find me. I guess my so over powering love for others shys away the girls but the one for me won't shy away because she's the one. Maybe when my books get published the one will find me. Or maybe I'm trying to much here.
Oh I just hope this one fish isn't a shark because they'll eat you right up. The lone wolf in me has tasted what true love is and I'm hunting for that true love. I hope I don't have to do a lot of hunting.

This is a more accurate quote

So many fishes left in the sea so many fishes but no one for me

I don't believe that. There are a few people who never end up with anyone, or are too different to end up with anyone. If you think that way there is no way that there's "plenty of fish in the sea," at least not for those people.

ArthurDent put it best.

EDIT: Ah nuts, this thread was necro'd.

This is what I've often been told when I was fixated on one person and someone was trying to convince me to move on from someone who had placed me firmly in the friend zone-- as in, "There are OTHER fish in the sea." And, as much as I hated to admit it at the time... it's true. Generally if someone doesn't like you back right away, and wants to be "just friends"-- which has happened with everyone I've had a crush on-- that's where the relationship is going to stay. And it's time to look for other fish.

I believe there are plenty of fish but a lot of them are hard to catch or you don't want to catch them because they are carrying eggs(have kids), don't meet the size requirements(age range), have diseases from living in polluted water(have baggage, psychological issues), or you don't like the way certain types taste(don't like certain personality or other types of people)

I think another way of putting it is that for every tuna in the sea, there are ten sharks chasing after it.

On that note, this thread is 5 years old and it seems many of the people who originally posted are no longer active on this board so I don't know if they will contribute to this thread or not, however an interesting topic to discuss nonetheless.

I forgot to say that some people are overfishing(dating multiple people at a time) or using illegal bait(lying, manipulating)

Dude, chill...

There are lot of fish, it just happens you're a very unskilled fisher.
