Does anyone else think this is bs? Men can be great without a woman. Not trying to be cynical or anything but believe it or not, there are beyond great men that have no need for women. I just hate it that people think a man needs a woman to be "great". It's ludicris and imo one of the stupidest sayings out there.

my ex-wife used to say,

"behind every successful man is a surprised woman."

I don't have a choice really. I have to be great without a woman, I've been doing it all my life. 8)

Oh, okay. Anything men can do they can do better right? Pfft! It's like they think were stupid or something (not all women just the ones with a feminist mindset obviously)

Sweet. Good job! My dad's another example of this. He's a great father, friend and man. No other way around it. Mom died 5 years ago now but for whatever reason, he's A LOT better single than he was when married to my mother.

I haven't had a woman for 25 years now; coming close to 26 years. I've had to learn that I don't need a woman to tell me how special I am, that I know that I have a purpose on this earth (although I've always wondered just what that purpose is), and that God had his reasons for giving me this condition (although I've always wondered just what they were).

It's pretty much BS and kind of sexist on top of it.

^ Yeah, it might be a little. But the OP does have a point, we should be able to rely on ourselves. If we need someone else to tell us how special we are then we don't have very high self esteem. I've never had a woman tell me how special I am so I'm going to have to do it myself. I should whether I have one or not. The same goes for men, you shouldn't need a man to tell you how special you are.

Male or female, you must love yourself above all others.

another quote from my ex-wife:

"If a man speaks in a forest, and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still an idiot?"

In my view men and women choose their own way. There is no superstition here, just pure human nature. In my own experience I can be alone for awhile, but friends and an eventual female opposite helps me with my social issues. That I will leave out for another comment.

It's like 'women are more mature than men' myth.

I agree it's bs. Men who aren't in relationships have more time & energy to persue great things. Maybe in the old days, where the woman just stayed at home with the kids while the man was out & about, it sounded more plausible. However, today men have more domestic responsibilities that could hinder them from going the extra mile.

And behind every great woman is a man... staring at her ass.

If you become great, a woman will capitalize on your greatness
