Hi all,

(my first post on here!)

I'm a 31 year old aspie from Essex (England). I'm into sport (play cricket and rugby), but I also enjoy walking and bellringing. I'm active, in my local church and enjoy visiting other churches, especially when it involves ringing bells! I'm 5'8'' weigh about 13 stone and don't mind having a drink or two. I can't stand nightclubs though and instead enjoy quiet drinks. In fact, my ideal date would be a lovely meal in London, followed by a walk through the park and then a few drinks in a lovely quiet riverside pub.

I love classical music and most of all Gilbert and Sullivan (ever so tuneful). I also have a bit of a passion for organ music and in particular fairground organs, particularly when they play the old show tunes. The question is, are you the one ready to come and sweep me off my feet?

I'm 26, male and from southern Germany, where I'm studying for a PhD in physics. I have reasonable social skills, I'm usually perceived as friendly, but not very outgoing. I love running, cycling, walking and generally spending time outdoors, I like to read or just to think... And I would love to have someone to share some of these moments with. Besides physics, I'm interested in philosophy, other natural sciences, and I'm quite passionate about the environment. Hi people, My names Robin, I’m 15 and from the UK. I am heterosexual (at least I’m pretty sure I am) and I can honestly say I’ve never had a romantic relationship in my life. I’m shy with new people, but I open up around close friends. I’m a diagnosed Aspie. Sometimes I’m very mature for my age and I like to think about serious things, I’ve never been one for make up and soap operas. But then in some ways I’m very immature. I still have teddies and get excited about small things. My hobbies are pretty plain compared to some. I like reading, writing, Harry potter role play games and playing imaginary games. I’m imaginative, short tempered and orang-utan obsessed. I love science, especially Biology and I like to think that I’m quite clever.

I suppose I’m looking for someone with similar interests, who will tell me when I’m boring them or annoying them. Personality is the most important thing to me, but that’s something that is hard to put into words. Someone who will listen and be patient with my problems with socialising. Someone who understands that I need to get to know them slowly. But most importantly someone who is sincere and genuine I have a fear of being manipulated or messed around. I'm 21 and live in Preston, Lancashire (UK for those outside it!). I'm a student at university, just earning the qualifying marks to enrol on a Combined Honours course in September - hopefully to study philosophy, history and religious studies. I'm also a volunteer at Cancer Research UK - only been there a month and very pleased to say I'm already a relief manager!

I was an athiest up until about 2 years ago and shortly after that discovered I have Jewish heritage. I now attend a Reform Synagogue in nearby Blackpool weekly and have found Judaism to be the best thing that has ever happened to me!! I did have a bit of turbulent time in my teens - had some experiences which I'm sure I'm not the only person on here has been through.

I'd like to think I'm a very genuine person and that I'm quite passionate as well. I can be a bit of a perfectionist, which I think can be a bit of a double-edged sword at times, but it's still what makes me who I am, so I'm pleased with it. I can't stand arrogance or egotism, I can't stand to see people exploited or harmed. All I'd like out of life is to make the world a better place in any small way that I can, and end up with a wife and children - not interested in fame or grandiose ideas.. just want to lead a humble life trying to make a difference!

Apart from my faith, I'm also interested in philosophy, psychology, music, politics.. I like to read a LOT, always researching something. I listen to music a lot - rock/metal, classical (Mozart, Bach etc.), Jewish folk music, bit of 80's dance sometimes, and some of the more commercial drum'n'bass (Prodigy, Pendulum). I like to go for long walks now and again, just makes me feel free! I'm also quite a sociable person really, which is quite ironic given that a lot of aspies - from what I've read of on here - tend to be quite isolated. But as we all know, it can be more about WANTING to socialise, but struggling to do so. But I cope quite well and have quite a lot of friends. I meet up with them quite regularly for a pint or two, sometimes do something a little different now and again, but it's still nice to see them!

Errrm, and as for what I look like... I've got a photo of myself for my avatar.. I'm about 5'10, slim, quite toned despite the fact I only probably exercise for about 5 minutes a week =S..

I think I've gone on about myself quite enough, hopefully a nice girl will like what she's read .

Hi. My name is Michael. I am 23 years old and I live in Arizona, USA. I am fairly new to the forum and was recently introduced to the Eligible Odd Bods forum. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of ten but first learned more about it when I was seventeen years old. I recently posted a topic in the love and dating section of the forum called,” looking for a special girl friend” and I was not happy with the feedback that I received from some of the members so I thought I would give this a try. I am looking for a girl who has been diagnosed with Asperger's and would possibly want to get to know someone like me. I am looking for a girl ages 20-30. The qualities that I am looking for in a young lady are someone who is loving, caring, supportive during the calm and rocky seas, honest, trustworthy, loyal, friendly, and someone who has an open mind.

In my spare time I am a league and competitive bowler, I like to write and I am in the process of writing a book and write poems on occasion, I also go out to different events and talk about what it is like living with Asperger's.

It is not like I have not been in a relationship before because I have and I am not saying that I am looking for a relationship now although it would be nice. I am looking for a special girl friend who I could eventually talk to about anything and everything with topics spanning from A to Z and hopefully when she was comfortable enough with me that she would feel that she could come and talk to me about anything and everything with topics spanning from A to Z. I am just looking for someone who would be willing to get to know me and I could get to know them and eventually I would be able to open up about some of the problems I feel I have when it not only comes to finding a girl and asking her about but how I am not afraid to admit that I worry about what kind of label or connection I have with her meaning if we are close friends who have an open relationship or if we are dating and calling ourselves a boyfriend/girlfriend couple. Also, I am afraid of how to approach things once we are dating in terms of going on dates in public and having the opportunity to spend time alone together.

Ideally, I would not mind talking on the computer because I am much more comfortable with that because one of the most difficult obstacles that I have found to over come for me, personally, is the aspect of being so shy when I am talking to someone face to face because I feel I might say or ask something that might scare the young lady away from me and that is something I would like to avoid. I am more comfortable talking to people by way of the computer because I am scared sometimes of what their reaction might be when I bring up certain topics.

I have also had my share of my heart getting broken and I am not afraid to admit that I have possibly broken some hearts as well. I just hope that I can find that special friend soon because I feel like I have a lot of good qualities a girl would want in a guy but are to afraid to take a chance with me because of my sudden mood changes and because I worry a lot.

Hmmm, think I'll give this a go. I am a guy, 21 years old, I live in New York, and I am just finishing college with a major in Sociology and Criminology (Ironic I know). I love movies, music (I have a particularly unhealthy obsession with the Pixies), partying with friends, writing, and hiking. I guess you consider me a mild aspie, although I do still have my share of oddities. I have been told that I wear my feelings on my sleeve and I love talking about just about anything. I have yet to be in serious relationship, but it is defineately something I'd like to give a try. I'm pretty sure that I have only been with NT girls. My dream is to travel the world and expose myself to different cultures and ideas. Let's see what else...., lookswise, the avatar is me, and I can always post another picture. I am pretty sure I have never even met a girl who is an aspie, and would be very interested in talking to her, so feel free to message me or however this site works (I'm relatively new to forums).

"Social Statuses":
I've never had a girlfriend, before aka I'm Single & Looking - Somehow (Questions, Self & Wonders: "Maybe, she's on here?"), not exactly "desperate" though. I don't think? I am, on the other hand, lonely. Maybe, like You - the rest but not too sure...I don't know.
I don't think...I have any True/Local "Friends?" - anymore (due to various "problems"; I (Still) Have/Love My Family though, however - We're Close), just a select few semi-close/relatable Online ones or whatever & that's about it...OR...are they just acquaintances?
Other than that, I don't have much of a "Social Life" like some people.
