HJi,
I don't pretend i don't care about Valentines day, of course I do, i think most people do. This year i am in a realtionship-sort of. But i think I am more "into him" than he is "into me." So it's almost worse-I am hoping he'll getm e something for Valentines day, but not allowing myself to get excited, and not wanting to buy him anything in case it ends up being a waste of money...
I don't know what it is with me, why do I end up with guys who tend to be jerks?.....

That's what many people want to know.

Whenever im with someone i would choose to ignore the day anyway.

Once on valentines day I had an ex boyfriend send me a guiltripping email. Even if we had still been together i would have done squat.

The worst thing about Valentine's Day this year is that it occurs on a weekend and all my friends will be out with their wives/girlfriends leaving me by myself with nothing to do. I don't care that I'm single, but it would be nice if one of my friends would be available to hang out with or do something. After all, I'm home by myself all week, it sucks when I have to do that on the weekend too.

It's just another day like any other day for me.

I'm sure the sex industry gets a lot of business on Valentine's day.

Valentine's Day is one of the few days I utterly hate. But I'm sure that a lot of single guys/virgins like me all feel the same way. It's just one of those days that leaves a sharp pang in your heart and makes you realize just how much you have missed out on.

I'm usually pretty solitary on Valentine's Day. Maybe that's a bad thing, but I prefer not to be around couples on Valentine's Day. It just makes me feel uncomfortable.

I have heard that for florists and jewellers valentines day is one of the days where they make loads of money.
doesn't suprise me.

Last year I went to see Billy Elliot the Musical with my mum because I bought her two tickets for christmas and she invited me to come with. (the tickets i bought were for the valentines day show). When we were walking to the theatre a wedding limo drove past, we walked past another wedding party.

I guess getting married on valentines day makes the anniversary way harder to forget.

I am single and will be relaxing at home on valentines day.

Heh. I'll be working on Valentine's Day, and most likely be screamed at by customers at my register. But at least I'll be able to celebrate it with my family that evening. What - no girlfriend? HA! Let me be frank with you, reader - if that ever happens, it will be the apocalypse. Let me prove it: I'm 36.5 years old, single, loves cats, and have AS, anxiety, major depression, and even social phobia. I trust you, reader - it will not happen! lmao So that means I should have a girlfriend in 2012? just kidding.

Okay, I have to understand this - hale_bopp - a beautiful woman as you are (I mean looks and personality based on your posts), and you have no boyfriend? Is the universe collapsing into itself? I don't get it! Why? I understand how the hand of fate squeezed any hope out of me, a loser, but you? you have a lot going for you! Somethings I guess I'll never understand.

There are plenty of jerks to choose from. I hope that you are willing to let him go if he ends up being too much of a jerk, because there are plenty of good guys out there as well, you just may have to actually approach them or find them yourself. :) In the mean time, I do hope that he will surprise you and that you have a good Valentines Day.

I have not posted my views on this thread yet, but I think that any day that's an excuse to give a woman I love flowers is a good day indeed. But I usually don't wait for an excuse 8) I'm single 365 days a year and nearing a decade of that now, but I really don't think a holiday dedicated to love is out to make me feel bad about that. If I was in a relationship, I would enjoy the day, since I'm not, I'll just forget about the holiday and do other things.
