My first real date? I was 21 at the time. I started kind of late-my shyness.

The thing is, I wasn't attracted to her at all. But at the time, the notion of going out on a real date seemed way more important than the girl's looks.

Same. I feel like an ass saying it, but it's true.

Surprisingly, my first date was when I was 17, and the girl initiated it (she's the one in the "What should I do" thread). I say surprisingly because I always expected I'd be 19 or 20 before I got that far.

17 or 18 depending on definition I suppose, it was a date in that she asked me if I wanted to go to the beach, (actually I loathe the beach and hate swimming but went anyway ) and we did. I somehow managed to avoid anything resembling a 'proper' date, as in going to a restaraunt for dinner together, for quite a while, going to the park or for a walk in the country or nightclub or stuff like that. I eventually succumbed and did it earlier this year (at 23) nothing fancy, first real meeting from some girl I had just met by chance online and she suggested we go for dinner, I couldn't think why not and so we did and to be honest it wasn't that great, she was boring and we didn't click and that was that.

I generally dont like restaraunts that much, they are noisy and I have to use a lot of my concentration on hearing the other persons conversation which is draining, so I usually try to think of alternative date locations that are more to my advantage :).

13 I think it's hard to remember it's one of those things where someone asks you do you want to go to a movie and you say yes then you find out that it was a date when she expected me to pay by saying “silly the guys always pay on dates”. She was nice and I was so young I had no idea what it involved were we just friends but instead I got to pay for 80% of everything….how nice. Then I moved away and I guess some one else paid for her movies lol.

That’s about the only decent relationship I have had. :(

Oh yeah, but it's 2 topics. A rough description of the '29' part is fine, but we need details on the 'ouch' part.
:^)

16 for me, if we use a standard model as reference.

Surely the 29 part is obvious?

Sorry, no amusing anecdotes behind the 'ouch'. Just the shortest way of expressing the pain of so much loneliness before then, that I'm exceptionally out of the ordinary even by Aspie standards.

Mind you, it depends what you mean by 'date'. I had plenty of evenings out with girls before then, just that none of them had any romance involved at all.
