This is actually from my blog, but wanted to share because a few people commented about it. Anyway, if anyone else has made a list of what they are looking for in that special someone, please post.

The thing I want most in the world is to find my soul mate. I know coming from a guy this might sound a little cheesy, but it is true. More than anything, I yearn to hold that special someone in my arms and tell her how much I love her and how much she means to me and how grateful I am that she is a part of my life. What can I say? I'm a romantic at heart.

I have given much thought as to what I am looking for in that special someone whom I will spend the rest of my life with. As a matter of fact, I have made a list of 75 things that I am looking for, and I have decided to share that list with the world. So, here it goes.

The 75 Things I am Looking for in a Soul Mate

She is a child at heart
She loves to cuddle
She thinks the world of me
She enjoys being seen in public with me
I find her attractive in every way
She has a similar sense of reality and truth like me
She enjoys similar books and films
She introduces me to new experiences that I welcome lovingly into my life
She loves making out with me
We are sexually compatible.
She compliments me
She loves to hug me
She loves holding hands
She loves all animals and people
She wants the best for both of us
She believes in me
She is supportive of my endeavors and assists me with my goals anyway possible as long as my goals are of benefit to other people
She has a beautiful smile
She appreciates the small things I do for her
She appreciates when I give her a compliment
She wants to marry me
She wants a family with me
She sees the good in everyone
She is creative
She enjoys life
She loves herself
She knows that I love her, always
We discuss feelings and emotions openly with each other. We only speak the truth to each other
We feel comfortable and natural with each other as if we’ve known each other all of our lives
She’s in perfect alignment with me
She is understanding of me
She enjoys learning more about me
She appreciates me for who I am
She is content with everything in her life right now
She is an honest person
She loves to play and have fun
She loves to laugh
She is silly
She enjoys special occasions like anniversaries and birthdays
She enjoys special occasions for no reason, other than just to have a special occasion
She works on becoming a better person, but is happy with who she is

She has good hygiene
She tells me her desires and wants

She loves to give me compliments
She tells me how much she loves me and how much she appreciates me

She is of a similar intelligence level as me
She respects me
She is sweet
She adores me
She has high self-esteem
She is grateful for everything in her life
She is happy
She is patient
She makes me want to become an even better person
She sees the good in everyone
She finds me physically attractive
She minds me mentally attractive
She finds me spiritually attractive
She respects m y free will and decisions
She loves the world
She is open to new experiences and ideas
She is interested in exploring the world with me at some point.
She offers constructive criticism when asked

She is there for me
She respects others opinions and beliefs
She is my Soul Mate

Maybe you should narrow that list down to about 10 top priority characteristics? That's the way the dating books say to do it. Anyway, here are my top 10:

1.Tall
2. Intelligent (above average is even better)
3. Has healthy obsessions
4. Is healthy, too
5. Loves to cuddle, and has a compatible sexual drive with mine
6. Has good hygiene
7. Has a good sense of humor (the quirkier the better)
8. Loves animals and children
9. Doesn't drink or smoke (occasional drink OK)
10. Loves me just the way I am

Tall is on the top of your list? :S

Sure. Why not?

Wouldn't you rather abolish all that rubbish and simply find someone who you connect with? Because that's esentually what a soul mate is, if you're inclined to believe in them. Without a spark its nothing.

For a soulmate I require someone who I spiritually connect with. end. Everything else comes with it. Soul mates fit together like Yin and Yang. They are part of a whole.

Out of curiosity, how tall is Tall?

The reason for having so many characteristics is that many are top priorities like kind, she enjoys life, has good hygiene, respects me, etc. I am if I don't put she is kind on my list she can end up being mean. If I don't put good hygiene....well you know. If I don't put respects me, then she can disrespect me. I just want to be thorough because I believe anything left out is an invitation for disaster. Perhaps, that is just me being super focused as a result of having autism.

Some of the things on your list are basics that you would expect in a relationship, like being happy to be seen in public with someone. Good hygiene is also an entirely reasonable request. The particular thing that jumped out at me as being potentially unreasonable, depending how long you expect the relationship to last, was:
"She is content with everything in her life right now"
That might be the case at one point or maybe even most of the time, but things do change. You can't expect a girl to be permanently content with her life. What if her dog dies or she argues with a friend or loses her job? I guess I'm just saying that you have to be prepared for the fact that sometimes everyone will have problems and even this terrifyingly perfect girl would probably still want support from you occasionally.

30 ft is quite tall.

29 feet tall just doesn't cut it somehow does it. Got to be the full 30 feet.

That's it. Because all of that other stuff on that long list, as nice as it is, doesn't mean crap if this condition isn't fulfilled. And as far as I can tell, nobody fulfills that condition for me...

Let's see, somethings I have pondered.

male gender

does not smoke or do drugs

clean but can be shaggy though I would prefer a clean face cause I like to nuzzle when intimate

untidy environment but not complete slob

does not drink heavily (party until you puke I found never appealing)

learning and sharing from each others knowledge of things

enjoy celebrating each others unique talents, abilities and or intelligence

passionate about their current interests and we can have fun getting overly enthusiastic about a topic even though it may never materialize

though agreeing to share everything we respects each others personal creative space and private time

work together to create and keep a safe and comfortable dwelling

good conversation and can argue their point intelligently

not one for holding hands in public but would probably make out in public

quoting dialogue from our favorite films complete with accents and or emotion

we can agree to disagree at times and are honest about our past and can learn from our mistakes

thinks my quirks are cute and likewise

does not get jealous or suspicious when I comment on someone being very attractive whether real or fictional

does not tantrum if asked to run to the store be it for either tea or tampons
