I don't really have a 'type' anymore.

Aspie AND NT guys both have a tendency to treat me in the same manner...always constantly teasing me, insulting me, or making jokes that makes me more uncomfortable.

I've dated an aspie whom I cared for very much, but our relationship ended for reasons I won't go into. The guy I'm currently dating has aspie traits, but is definitely not an aspie. I like the idea of aspie males, but I don't have a "type".

I don't think there really is an "aspie" type.

It would be inaccurate to assume all people with AS have the same difficulties as you do, or if they do, that they manifest in the same way.

I would imagine that most of them don't care, and end up with whoever they end up with.

I'm a woman, not girl,
and I've only dated one Aspie to my knowledge,
though I didn't "go for" him-
I'm way too shy to approach a guy.
That was by far the best relationship of my life.

Not so sure about men, but I definitely go for Aspie women.

I'm %110 convinced the woman I'm involved with now is on the spectrum. We share so many aspie-related eccentricities .

Well, I haven't had a proper boyfriend yet. But it seems that I often end up fancying aspie guys, just something about them that attracts me.

I've never met an aspie boy to say...

I have dated an autistic guy, but his issues were far worse than mine which made it tough for me, so from that experience I would say I'd be willing to date aspie guys but it depends on how bad their issues were.

As hale_bopp said; personality, not neurology, is what's important.

It depends for me. I once dated a BEAUTIFUL man who seemed NT at first, but then I started noticing strange things about him. He was colorblind, and had a scary photographic memory. For example, he would remember what I would be wearing on a certain day weeks ago. He said that this ability to remember everything visually haunted him with bad images of the past (he never did tell me what the bad things were) and he was closed off. He was/is however, a very brilliant 3D artist and was the lead modeler on a few high profile games. It seemed as if he was only interested in making models...and he was also VERY selective about his food and its texture. The most striking phenomenon though, was his Rainman-esque visual memory.

Long story short, I think this guy might have been on the spectrum.

Beyond that, almost all of the men that I've dated were game designers so that's sort of a nudge in that direction anyway. I don't care if a man is Aspie, Autie or Neurotypical; as long as he makes me happier than I am alone than it might be worth a shot.

Of course, much of personality depends on neurology.

I disagree. Neurology is one (of many) factors that influence personality, but personality doesn't "depend" on neurology.

There is no black and white and no clearly delineated categorization in personality.

I said much, not all, of personality depends on neurology. In neurological conditions such as AS, personality is very noticeably dependent on the condition.
