I'm 41, living in SE London, UK.

Have been married, now divorced. Still hopelessly in love with my ex-wife and thus single to the nth-most degree.

Working on my PhD now for lack of anything better to do. PhD designed to take my mind off being single and if it saves lives / limbs then so much the better.

Self-employed, have a small company where four of us work but don't see each other often: if it weren't so much of a give away I'd call it "Aspie Analytics". We're all Aspies and it's great.

One of the subjects of our ongoing discussion - remotely - is that we (Aspies) are essentially the X-Men (and women) of the world: we are, in effect, the next generation of humanity, the early adopters of the evolution of human focus and human specialism.

I'd be interested in possibly discussing (maybe on here?) if anyone thinks the same?

Changed my avatar so when I said "my avatar is me" in my previous comment (http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp3365473.html#3365473), it's no longer true. Was true then but not now.

Hi i'm harry

i've graduated with a BA called Sound Art and Design. I'm trying to find work in sound for film and I'm also going to be renting an art studio very soon. i originally come from a fine arty background and i definitely am going to enjoy painting in a place where there is space. I like music of most genres such as bon iver, british sea power, aqualung, tangerine dream, cocteau twins, dif juz ... i love most films by directors like tarkovsky and i don;t really have a bad thing to say about kubrick, he was a genius. the last theatre piece i saw was the master builder.
'
are there any like minded people about there? I up for going out to see live music, films, galleries alternaive theatre and anything interesting that's foing on in town (london). it would be good to find someone who's okay being different (AS obviously) but who still make an effort to integrate into normal society and don't adhere to this "us against them" principle. i'd alos like to find people to collaborate with on film work or make music with (no pun intended).

i am displaying a big, massive picture of myslef (cos I can't upload an avatar - how can a picture be as small as 16K and still be undamaged by compression, is there a particular codec apart from JPEG that i should be using???).

Glad to see that I'm not on this particular thread yet. I'm a 28-year-old law student who's madly obsessed with the law of real property. (I'm a guy...that should have come first?) When I've got free time I work with the debaters at one of the local high schools up here in Minnesota. I also like collecting stamps and foreign currency, watching sporting events on TV (golf calms me down, boxing fires me up, and baseball and basketball are my favorites), and hanging out in the local cafe to catch up on what's been going on. Happy to meet you all if I haven't before.

Hey, everybody!

I'm Basil. I'm the 4th Basil in my family (Yeah, it's like a royalty thing or something in my family). I am 19 years old. I lived in the Toledo, Ohio area all my life and love the area. I go to the University of Toledo to major in History, so that I can be a history professor.

I'm laid-back and try to give my time to help others. Back in Jr High and High School, I was part of my local YMCA's Leo/Leaders Club from 7th grade until I graduated. My Junior year, I was the Secretary and, during my Senior year, I was Club President. I got a state award from Michigan last May, for doing 2000 hours of volunteering during just my Junior and Senior years of high school, doing stuff like helping at animal shelters, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, schools, painting the park and local skatepark, and even going to the Ohio State University campus to help out with the Ohio Special Olympics for the weekend both years.

I've played the violin since 5th grade. My orchestra in high school was so good that, in my Freshman year (06-07), we were invited to represent Michigan's Orchestra program for some special music education demostration where we played at different locations in Washington D.C. like the Mall, Jefferson Memorial, and even on the steps of Capitol Hill and we were there for a week.

I played football my Sophomore and Junior year of high school as a lineman. When I couldn't play my Senior year, I became the first male General Manager of the boys' basketball program for the high school, along with making me one of the best of the managers.

hi all! to hell with a uh good first impression -

i wish i could have "turned around" before growth. i do my best to be cool to other people, but im pretty sure no one gets anything out of it. i was told once i bring a graceful and calm presence to any room i enter...... not even sure about that one. im VERY jaded. making music is my thang and i get keyed when sh*t happens. or when i sit down to make a beat in my studio. i really dont have anything positive to say about myself, because i am very pessimistic

byebye!

I am 53 years old, my kids are grown up, and I live on my own, except my daughter lives with me. I have a state job supervising the staff that cares for mentally ret*d adults. My interests are skiing, travel, reading, politics, Chinese, Caribbean, Thai, and Indian food, and classical, oldies, and classic rock music. I am an animal lover, but I'm not allowed to have pets where I live. I go to church, and I am pretty tolerant, except I say no to abortion and gay marriage. I am a proud union member.

My names Jordan. I'm from the western part of Kentucky. I haven't been officially diagnosed with AS but I'm 99.9% sure I have it. My Mom informed me of it after she read a book where a character had it and he reminded her of me. So, she looked it up on WebMD, read the symptoms, and I matched several of them. She was scared to tell me because she thought I might think I was broken or something. I've always felt different than others and I used to just start crying asking my Mom what was wrong with me. She'd always say, "Nothing. You're just like everyone else." Anyone else ever get that response. My Dad would just tell me, "get over yourself." But I always felt like I didn't belong. I found out about AS in 2008 and felt relieved because after years of wondering why I felt so different, I finally knew. Even though I haven't been officially diagnosed it just fits WAY to well. I feel nervous in social situations. Unless there's someone I know there. Then I stick to them like glue. My lifelong interests have been movies and TV shows. As I got older they expanded to include music, books, writing and religion.I play a little guitar. When i was ten I became obsessed with tornadoes, after one came through. I think i know about as much as any specialist. I get extremely nervous when i have to use the phone unless it's someone I'm very close to. I won't even answer if I don't know who it is. Before I had caller ID, I would scan the calls with the answering machine. I prefer texting or e-mail. I really only have three close friends and I don't even know how that happened..
