I myself want kids, preferably the oldest born before I tie the knot, just to prove a point. But I would want to have kids with someone who wants kids as badly as me, and that's PRETTY BADLY!! ! :D But of course, I want to at least have a career direction first, or at least have my feet settled.

I'm live in Northern NY and I'm originally from near NYC and I didn't know that could happen anywhere outside of the South. Well, I was wrong! I hear ya.

I already know that I would suck as a mom if having Asperger's has taught me anything.

I know I'm going to be a horrible mom.

Would I like to be a parent? Yes, more than anything in this world. I'd like 3 children: an only child could be lonely, two children would be good unless something happened to one of them and the other child ended up lonely, and I don't think I could manage more than three children. So three's an okay number for me.
Do I have confidence that I'd be a good parent? I like to think that I'd be an okay parent, but I hope that I'll have a husband and family around to help.

At the moment I feel like I never want any kids and I really hope I don't change my mind as I really don't think I could cope with them. Since my sister has had her kids it has only confirmed this thought.

Well, even if women don't want kids, if they feel love for a guy, they become super fertile when they have sex, and their chance of becoming pregnant zooms up. Obviously this can be defeated by really nearly foolproof contraception such as the pill. However, whatever women think, their hormones and their unconscious mind are saying "make a baby, make a baby, make a baby"

I do want to start a family, yet finding someone who does is very difficult.

I kinda do.
Like, I know it is the right thing to do, but I'm scared that my kids won't turn out right.
If I do though, I will make sure that the youngest isn't spoiled.
Honestly, my thoughts on this matter sway back and forth all the time.

I don't have a maternal instinct but I value my genetic line a lot, and would rather like to continue my loves' as well (I think the world should have more men like him). I hate the idea of getting pregnant, and if I DO have kids it'll have to be timed darn well either during grad school or over the summer working for tenure. Goodness knows I can't pause the tenure track cause women who do that never get tenure, regardless of their qualifications >_>

Bitter: Not like men have that problem. Meh, sorry, my grumble for the day. Wanting to follow in my fathers footsteps is damn hard considering how female professors are treated.
