If the AS gene is recessive, the child of a non-carrier NT and an Aspie will be NT. A recessive gene has to be homozygous to come into effect.

You seem to assume AS/HFA/ASD is monogenic. Do you have a even shred of evidence for this proposition?

Just prove to yourself that you can do all of it.

Autism and most other mental disorders are based on more than one gene. With Mendelian(dominant-recessive) genetics, either the dominant or recessive trait is expressed. Mendelian inheritance doesn't occur in a spectrum of severity like autism does. Diseases with Mendelian genetics patterns include Huntington's disease and some types of dwarfism, but not autism. Not much is known about what genes cause autism except for the fact that it is based on multiple genes.

@OP-It's not fair to assume that you will have only NT kids because you will have an NT wife. Autistic children are born to parents that are both NT all the time. You are more likely to have children with AS than parents who are both NT. If you want to have kids, you should be able to love and accept them for who they are, NT or on the spectrum.

I am NT dating an Aspie guy and when we found out he had Aspergers I knew nothing about it. I did my research and found out that if we ever got married that if we had a boy he would likely have AS and a girl would run a strong chance but had a better chance of being NT.

I decided I loved him enough that I would happily have children with him and be happy as long as they were happy and healthy no matter if they were NT or AS.

But to assume you will have NT kids from an NT wife is scientifically proven to be untrue.
