I met my dear one on geek to geek. Sadly, as some of you know, he passed away last month.

I'm an NT, and I have to say that as with all dating websites, it's just a matter of wading through the "stuff". People are not who they pretend to be (or perhaps who they think they are) on sites all of the time, I think. Even with Geek to Geek.... I found my perfect geek, but not before I had to deal with some people who were just plain weird, or who were pretending to be a geek because they are probably on every dating website (including the mainstream ones).

Now with Geek to Geek, there was some discussion about gaming... I'm not a gamer, but I didn't say that I was on the site, either. Honesty is the best policy.

Here's hoping for all of you who are searching that love will found you. My dear one was 28 years old and had really only had one other girlfriend before me..... but love was truly worth waiting for. I only wish we'd had more time together.

Good luck!

No kidding! I saw a couple profiles where she was adamant she HATED science fiction, fantasy, video games, science... in fact, there was nothing geeky about her at all!

Megan Fox claims to be geek because she uses twitter.

I always related "geek" to "deep interest in technology".

Technology is surely part of it, and I think the definition is open to interpretation.
There can be tech geeks and gamer geeks, but I think too, sci-fi or fantasy geeks, cosplay geeks.

I was a completely different kind of geek than my sweetheart, but we learned new kinds of fun to have together that way. He taught me to appreciate gaming, and I fostered his enthusiasm for Cons. A match made in heaven to be sure.

I admit I'm bothered by the idea that dating geeks seems to be trendy right now. What the heck? Is it because of The Big Bang Theory? I hope not. That's not fair to "geeks" or people who genuinely have an attraction to that personality type. URG! :/

I'm sure it is because Big Bang Theory and some other series with geek/very intelligent but socially awkward characters like those from Numb3rs, Bones, Criminal Minds, and lately Sherlock Holmes. They are trendy since 2003-2004, same period "zombies" returned. A lot of people are "followers" of what's on tv.

I think all of this is related to a new batch of scriptwriters on their late twenties/early thirties that grew up with zombie movies, science fiction from the eigthies and nineties and comic books and that were socially awkward themselves at school. Now they can capture their childhood's passions thanks to their job, and it's a very influential one.
Moreover, some new series style have supposed a revolution (the "cliffhangers", the complex characters with troubled past, the references to science) and this style is very related to comic books.

It's quite ironic that some people that used to bully comic books and Science Fiction fans at school, are now part of this kind of fandom because "it's trendy".

Thanks all....
My point is.... there is love out there. And it can be amazing. I will miss my Davey so very much. But wow, what we had was "super great" as he used to say. And we found it on gk2gk. If my heart heals, I will go back there and try again.

Sure! Seems a nice site, and a lot of people are on their thirties, so it's more or less the same generation. It seems users are mainly from US, though.

Take all the time you need to heal,as I stated before in another thread you will always have a home here! Like your user name as a pheonix you will once again rise from the ashes!

That's what I used to think but I found out DateHookup.com has more women than men on it! And the ratio may be pretty close for POF and OKCupid also. Aspie sites are a different story....

Verdict: useless (for me, anyway). A couple of "winks," yet no messages - not even a response from the dude I'd emailed regarding our mutual adoration of WoW. I call BS on the claim that even Aspie women have it easier than men. :(

"Search results: Showing 1 to 1 of 1 Results."

That was a 50 mile radius too! I've seriously gotta move lol, I'm tired of being in the middle of nowhere!
