Anything that highlights the plight of people with disabilities, be it in love, sex, society, etc, should be viewed as a positive attitude. We all know the reasons behind most programmes, news, documentaries... the corporate greed at all costs. However, let's try and see the glass half full, and not forget that the crux of this show, should be, that we are letting the masses *know*, that it is possible and rightfully so, that everyone has a right to be accepted and loved. The evidence is there. How we choose to look at it, is a personal/moral decision we all have as individuals.

I take it you'd agree with Nazi propaganda then or Frankie Boyle's humour? After all, that highlighted the plight of people with disabilities...

Yes, I'm trolling, but the treatment is a big part of it. Films, books and TV programmes on disabled people can either be very sensible and sensitive in their treatment of their subjects, or they can be abusive, mocking and exploitative, holding them up as freaks to be laughed at and pitied rather than full people in their own right.

If there was no debate to Nazis being part of our history (and present unfortunately), I dread to think, how this already academically challenged population would be informed of such xenophobia.

I pointed out, it is also our own personal views, and our home and school education, that will enable us to distinguish the importance and relevance of such programmes.

You are choosing to just be negative about it. I am trying to consider the positive aspects.

I agree it's also *how* you render the message, but burying our heads in the sand, and hiding disabilities isn't progress either is it?

And in addition...Why don't you go that step further, and think of a more positive aspect for divulgation of such plights, and implement it, or try to?

I know an albino guy since my primary school and he also has anxiety. He blinks his eyes often, I guess some might consider it a tic and he would flap his hands sometimes. I guess I'm more the Oliver guy, I could see myself standing there at the art gallery trying to speak to people but it doesn't work for them. I hope the woman with the Down Syndrome is happy.

Are you really planning to upload the whole season eventually?

Yes. I shouldn't think there'll be more than about three more episodes though.

Reading this whole discussion I have to say I agree with Mcalavera. The guy was clueless, it's a fact and it was not expressed in a hurtful or disrespectful way.

I don't care for putting everything on a ASD vs. NT perspective, but even if you do, I'm sorry I have more in common with the average NT than that guy. Does that mean I look down on him or judge him? - No, get a grip!

I don't care for your tone so why don't you get a grip of that instead - you're not wrong in wanting to align yourself more to the NT side either. Do not attempt to bring your NTness to bear on me though or you'll get it right back! And what do you know - you've got a blog too

The point is people on this board call NTs clueless about AS and us all the time, without anyone seeing anything wrong with it. What he did was talking about that autistic guy like he would with everyone else, and you criticize him for it because he's also on the spectrum? That's basically saying that it's ok for NTs to treat you differently than other NTs since they are on the same side as well. Why create sides?
