How naive...
So what if she did say something it is still assault to handle someone against their will.
Slow down there, I never said anything excused the fact! Even if she ranted and raved like someone who escaped from an asylum, being punched was still a crime. Even if it was some baloney to get out of a large cab bill,
it's still a crime. Even if she was committing a crime herself (I don't think she did) there's
STILL no excuse for someone to
also commit a crime.
I hope she managed to get a license plate number or something... talk to the media... go to the police station to make a report about the cabbie AND the cops on patrol in that area... gad -
something!
You have to realize, in Russia and the Baltics/Eastern Europe, the situation is reversed. I know you have your men's rights perspective, which I think is honestly quite valid in USA. However, in Eastern Europe, from what I understand, basically things are reversed. Russia doesn't even have a domestic violence law. There's 10K domestic violence murders per year in Russia. That's USA's entire total murders for a year (and most of those murders are stupid gang shootings and whatnot, only like 10% are DV related.) So yeah, go to Russia as a man, you got it made. As a woman, not so much. That's partially why Russian mail order brides come to America. Even in the American man is a "nice guy" or whatever, he's likely not to be a flaming alcoholic or beat her.
So yes, imagine Eastern Europe as the opposite extreme as America, and there you go. Sometimes bad s**t happens. There is no "other side" of the story. Sometimes people ARE just bad, and lie to get other people in trouble simply because they can.
