Doesn't a lot depend on the extent to which you plan on going out with the person?

ie if you are like me and just meet the person at their house or yours it's irrelevant how much they weigh but if you're planning on going out on the town a lot ie to pubs and restaurants etc then you will probably be wanting to impress others more socially and hence be less likely to want to be seen with a larger person

it all depends on the extent to which a person likes being seen socially

I once went to the cinema with a very large man and I was scared to death everyone we came across would be nasty and judgemental to us but they weren't

I felt ashamed to feel this way but it was like an innate instinct that made me feel he would draw unwanted attention

I was by no means slim myself at the time but he was a lot bigger

it's the same with disability

I saw a person with cerebral palsy several times and we went out to a pub and I hated it

I don't like any attention on me anyway as I feel so self-conscious and often seem to get people stare at me so this was like double the amount of attention

hey nessa

my girlfriend was obese when i first met her. she was 128 kg (281.6 lb). she is now 90kg, and we have been together for 13 years. she has an innocent mind, and she says exactly what she thinks and she does not pretend to be interested when she is not.

never has anyone been able to get into her inner sphere of being as i have, and never has anyone been able to get into my inner sphere of being as she has.

i could never trade her for whatever else is superficially available to me, and she also feels the same.

one of us will lose the other only when one of us dies, and the one that is left will not want to live anymore after that.

i can not understand how people can choose a partner like a cut of meat at the butcher shop. i never looked for anyone and neither did she, but we crossed paths and we got trapped in orbit around each other.

we both agree that this song descibes how we feel about each other (obviously she transposes the male aspect of the song for a female aspect)

Well I know I'm undesirable because being bi-polar is a deal breaker, worse than being obese.

Yes, because I think that they are sexually attractive, but if I didn't find them attractive, then mostly not.

There is some recent research that suggests that one big difference is often the bacteria in the gut. Some bacteria apparently causes the intestines to get as much nutrient out of everything that comes through.

Supposedly, for those who have their stomachs stapled, it isn't the stomach stapling that causes them to lose weight, but a major difference in the bacteria in the stomach. I'm curious how stomach stapling would affect the populations of different bacteria.

I am very much attracted to larger women and prefer them over skinny. I have dated a few over 300 lbs and they were still attractive. But I would prefer one in good enough shape to take nice walks with. My problem is finding one that doesn't smoke or have kids (or is too religious) in my age range (over 40).

I can't make myself like someone who is overweight. I can't help it. It's not shallow...I can't change what I like and don't like. I'm sure they're great people :)

From the chart, I have dated people between 1 and 8. My current partner is a 3.

I'm about a "3" on there but I wouldn't be too attracted to any woman less than a 4. My preferred size range is 6 to 8, but would consider 4 to 9 (as long as she could still walk OK) Most people would probably call a 7 obese.

i got to wondering about people's opinions regarding obesity, and who they would date. i suspect that the medical definition of obese is a different from the popular culture definition.

1. which one of these bodies qualifies as obese in your opinion (not morbidly obese, just obese)?

2. which one is the biggest size you would date?

please DO NOT snark on the pictures as people here on WrongPlanet actually look like all of these silhouettes. i see that people have been respectful in the thread so far, and that is very much appreciated - it is fine to have a preference, just don't be nasty about whichever types that you don't prefer.
