Why do guys hate fat chicks?

I can pitch in my personal experience, which doesn't count for much...

I've dated heavier girls than I was. One in particular I wish I'd tried to hang on to because she didn't have the kind of hangups I've since encountered with heavier girls.

I've noticed with a few heavy girls I've been close to that they tend to gravitate towards LTRs more easily than skinny girls. I think it's an insecurity issue, which (no offense meant to anyone) I suspect of the OP. [NOTE: I'm admitting I COULD be wrong here] The LTR I was in for some 6 years was with a girl who was only active when she absolutely HAD to be, didn't display all that much personal initiative or drive, complained when she didn't get her way, and blamed all the ills of the world on me. Yet as much crap as she dished on me, she wasn't ever all that interested in breaking up. Threatened a few times, yes, but it was more like using breaking up as ammo--more a threat than anything serious. We'd developed too much of a co-dependent relationship for us to really be able to function apart from each other. We made it from Jr. High all the way to a couple of years in college when I decided I'd had enough and accelerated that crazy train right off a burning bridge...even laughed as I watched it go up in flames when it hit the bottom. Then she went all crazy on me.

Fat girls/skinny girls...it's 6 of one and half a dozen of another, IMO. On the one hand, you have psychotic, insecure, co-dependent types who'll drain the life out of you if you hang around too long. On the other hand, you have skinny girls who have all sorts of options and are all too aware of those options. I've dated skinny and pretty girls, and the ones who broke up with me first or cheated were, invariably, the pretty ones.

I'm married to a BEAUTIFUL skinny woman. Since we first got together, there were times we were separated and we both know what we did in the absence of the other. Pretty, skinny chicks drive their guys bonkers because of a Catch-22: In order to keep them from straying, you have to isolate them from other guys; except you can't do that because that's considered abusive. Getting the "right one," whether she's plump, sweet, loving, and even-tempered or she's so skinny you can see what she's thinking, and beautiful, and smart, and true, is only something you can accomplish if you really go out on a number of limbs and play a wide dating field.

Incidentally, I've not slept with another woman since I got engaged to my wife, and she's not been with anyone else since then, either. That doesn't mean she's been "safe" from men trying, but I seem to have found my ideal.

From my experience dating both larger girls and skinnier girls, I'd say if I had to do it all again, the skinnier girls are the safer bet. They might cheat and/or leave. Fine. At least you know where you stand. I'd rather deal with that and say good riddance than have a ball and chain from the get-go. Once you get with crazy, she's hard to get rid of.

Yeah, I am nearly back to the weight I was before anti-depressants but I still like fat girls. I don't know why.

I prefer women on the high end of normal BMI (say 23ish, so not fat at all, just not stick thin) to basically obese (but not usually morbidly obese). Anything below about a BMI of 23 and they get less and less attractive as they lose weight. When they're at the borderline of underweight (which is strangely considered attractive in the media) then they have completely of lost it for me in terms of physical attraction and it becomes all about personality then.

Like my friend who I have fancied for 11 years - she used to be around 21 in terms of BMI and even back then I still would've been more physically attracted if she gained a bit of weight. Now she is underweight (around 17 BMI) so any attraction I have now is all to do with who she is as a person.

I'm surprised this was revived. This was my first topic I posted I think...but yeah, I've lost around 87 pounds since this thread was made, found love, lost it and found it again and now it's going really good for me. We're talking rings and babies and the whole works. He met me halfway through my weightloss sooo yeah I was proven wrong in that guys don't hate fat chicks. I discovered that some take advantage of those with really low self-esteem and then ditch em when they're done. So once I started gaining confidence with the weight loss and graduating college, I met my current bf and I couldn't be happier. You may continue to debate it if you'd like but know that I no longer need guidence on the topic. Huzzah!

Why guys hate fat chicks: For the same reason anyone hates fat people. Cause they are jealous that they got more food. Food = Love That's why!

5'4 250 is more than just a fat chick no offense. most fat chicks also have an entitlement complex..they want the best looking tallest strongest funniest guys like all girls do. they dont realize that they are not as desired. I'm 6'2 205-210 and work out alot and have a good body. i'd date someone who was fatter than me..maybe 5'3 140 or 5'6 170..but nothing extremely fat. I wouldnt date a girl over 5'9 and at 5'9 she cant be over 190...or too fat.

if you really workout as hard as you fo maybe your thyroid is f****d.

maybe you should lift weights before commenting stupid things. a fat guy with a lot of muscle is way more muscular than a skinny ripped wimp. a lot of guys purposely consume loads of calories and gain soem fat in order to have that linebacker build. there are fat guys with no msucle and fat guys with a lot of muscle.

Yes, but most girls are more attracted to toned but fairly thin. Especially the refined girls near cities. Take a look at Matt Bomer.

Too big is a turnoff, and from an evolutionary perspective, it makes sense. Strong fat guys or even steroid hulks are too slow and unfit to make good hunters or warriors.

The best Cro Magnons could run, swim, and shoot all day - through swamps and mountains- without breaking down. Today's steroid buffs likely couldn't.

The natural standard of beauty for men and women are not really different at all: strong and built but fit. Religion/patriarchy/civilization simply tried to change the standard to place women in a more subservient position. The extreme of this is anorexic women and male steroid junkies - neither of which favor survival at all!

In some countries today, such as some South Pacific island nations, fat chicks are much preferred over thin. If you're a fat woman in need of love, then go to Tonga or Samoa. You will probably end up being married to a big, strong, good-looking rugby player.

Some men like fat women, some don't, it's a matter of attraction.

Men don't want fat women because fat women are less fertile.

IMO, I think the Venus is a poor example. Did it ever occur to anyone that perhaps the Venus of Willendorf is merely a specimen of an ancient sense of humor?
