Do you watch porn? It can affect your subconscious to not like, or even hate women. Try to stop it for a few nights, see how it affects you. I won't lie, I used to watch it on a daily basis. Nothing too....gross or fetishy, etc. I know I don't want to hurt anyone and I mean well. (my conscious tells me that) but then for some reason, when I watched porn and saw women in public. it builds some animosity. Its really weird. - See more at: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postxf242114 ... PmKGH.dpuf

I guess that depends on the kind of porn you watch, if it's the gross/fetishy/humilation harem rape-like things then yeah it would mess your head (but I think only the messed up would watch them in the first place); but if it's the passion/romantic thing then maybe it wouldn't be that messing.

Is it just me or there's something very weird happening in that thread?

I didn't mean to imply that all your problems with women stem from how you treat them. I suppose now that I've read more it's best to take what I said as more of a warning that if you let your prejudice take control, it -will- end up that way. And I suppose I still worry that you will harbor negative feelings towards all women despite best efforts to do otherwise, and that that will bite you back. But again, I don't really know how you can let go of those negative feelings. Seeing that you have them is a necessary first step though. My image of a stereotypical male chauvinist doesn't even realize that he IS one.

That sucks about you being stuck in a little town, and your rancor makes all the more sense now. My HIGHSHCOOL was close to 3000 students, and boy was it good to get into such a large group of people! I hear all sorts of awful stories from people who grew up in a small town and they were different, for either their religious beliefs or their sexuality or any other number of things.

Do your best to not let an awful first relationship cloud your vision of what CAN be. Relationships take all forms, good and bad. I'm glad to hear that you won't enter one again when it's only you who will put effort into it.

I'm not sure porn plays much of a role in any of this. I suppose if you have a hard time not being turned on all the time it could affect you poorly?

well you did say in your other post that you like guns and you have a short temper. Maybe women don't like you because you misrepresent yourself as a creepy guy. Especially if you say you say it in a way that makes you sound like a serial killer.

I don't care what people know about me. The most I used to watch was group sex. It was not violent and didn't degrade women. Even if you watched just 1-on-1, passionate porn, it still changes your brain. There was a study about porn that I read a two weeks ago that it can change someone's sexual tastes, and how they treat the opposite sex. I feel a lot less bitter toward women if I don't watch porn than when I did. I only brought porn up since its so easy to access these days, and if someone is "alone," they are likely to stray into this kinda' thing. It changes your subconscious more than your conscious. If you are a porn watcher, try it and go cold turkey. See how much more positive it affects your life. I changed about a week ago or so, and I do feel better by not watching porn, but now I have to actually find a woman for sex...grrr. Can't have it all in life, I guess. :x

I only bring this up publicly in the forum because it could helps others.

There was a documentary on porn's effects on the brain, they did CT scans on porn users and non porn users............it actually can in most create an addiction/dependancy like drugs............ :o

And I am sure if they MRI scan virgin monks and bar players they would show differences as well, studies are showing that the human brain is 'flexible'.

As far as porn, I get your point, but I was addicted to it, and I still am, it's not the porn talking. If I thought about it real hard, I could probably tell you all the labels and names I've received. It was harmless to them, but then again, we're talking about people who probably have a cocktail of personality disorders. Just understand this one thing, porn affects everyone differently. To blame porn solely is like, in the gun control debate, blaming guns and violent video games as the sole cause for violence. Japan has few civilian owned guns, but blade violence is common place, especially among members of Yakuza. I've played violent video games since I was 7, never shot up a school, not even one bullet. My parents try to blame the video games for why I was so angry, but really, they wanted something to blame in compensation for their inconsistent parenting, being my father was there only physically and my mother was busy all the time. Moral of my story, it's easy to blame an object for someone's inequities, that's Humanism for you. Anger and contempt are reactions, not emotions. It's a mask for fear, and I'm afraid that, even into adulthood, I'll still be ridiculed by the same people.

On digg.com, basically a one-page wrap up of all the popular news and studies currently being conducted; I found this study about how porn affects your brain.

They used 1 person who regularly watches porn, and another who never watches it. The brain stimulation from the regular porn user showed the same brain activity of that of a drug addict. You can become physically addicted to it. And hell...when your brain chemicals are off, many other aspects of your body is thrown out of proportion too. I watched porn for 11 years, and stopped recently. The changes in my mood changed for the better, and that feeling is better than the temporary pleasure I used to get from watching it.

It's not harmful not to trust people, some people are fame, attention and status seeking whores in general so you have to be careful when it comes to trusting people.

Men and women alike, people are individuals, stop judging an entire sex based on the actions of one.

Have you quit porn for a solid 21 days or more and see if your attitude changes? Nobody is ridiculing you, but your current situation most likely sucks...so why not give it a shot? I'm not suggesting this because of religion or anything else...if whatever you're doing right now isn't ideal, give something a shot, see how you feel. (no cheating though, a solid 21 days without any porn sounds impossible at first, but it gets easier)

Studies have also shown that growing up around guns doesn't promote violence. It's just like a knife. You can use it as a tool (to cut your chicken and steak, yum!) or use it as a weapon to inflict harm. Guns are for target practice and hunting for food. Others will abuse it, just like anything else in life. And also is easier to get away from the scene of the crime by using a knife (that doesn't emit noise) versus a gun which is always loud regardless if a suppressor is attached or not.

Violent video games have been studied, and science proves that kids playing violent video games does not lead to violent tenancies in kids/adults.

Regardless of one's beliefs, religion, habits, etc...you can't argue science. I'm stubborn as hell too, but I'd rather try to improve my life than suffer on the inside. Not having porn on your mind when you're doing day-to-day things will also improve your way of thinking.

Just Google: "Why is porn bad for you?" And you will read a comments or short term and long term users, and how it affected their life. Want more than one opinion? There's hundreds there. I'm not some anti-porn speaker or anything, but if what you're doing isn't working, try something else.

Not hating or anything, but you sound miserable just by reading your posts. Good luck in the future man. 8)
