Past a certain age, do stuffed animals make a good gift?

So I've got this cute plush lion that's really soft and furry and he's holding a heart that says "Wild About You" on it. I won it at a church event. Obviously, I don't have much an interest in it and see it as something nice to give someone, so I was planning on saving it for Valentine's Day for someone who might like it. Problem is, this is my first VD in high school, and I think most of the girls feel like they're too old for them. I know that even adults think it's nice when someone wins them a giant teddy bear at the carnival and stuff like that, but I think at a certain age it doesn't seem as appropriate as say, a box of chocolates. I would feel awkward giving someone one and them not liking it. I asked a couple of people if they still are into them or if they know anyone who is, and they didn't. So, my question is, would it be a good idea to give one to a girl, or should I look for something else? Because I don't want to feel embarrassed if she were to think I was being immature and it was a bad gift.

With a gift like that, it's more about who gives it to you and the thought behind it than it is about the gift itself - it may be something seemingly trivial and with little intrinsic value, but the sentiment is what empowers it and makes it meaningful. Much more so than a box of chocolates that's eaten and forgotten, the lion could be around for years as a reminder than "someone thinks you're special." I still have a couple of stuffed animals no bigger than my fist that were given to me more than 30 years ago.

I think it's fine in high school. At worst it's something cute to put on a shelf or bedside table rather than something to hold, which is the case for many as they grow older. A friend of mine has all her old dolls decorating the top of her dresser, and she still keeps gifts from her friends, no matter how childish, to remind her of them.

I don't think there's an age limit to cute stuffed animals, personally.

A lot of girls and women alike find them cute, unless you know the woman you're interested in is not into that sort of thing, but that would be unusual (in my experience.)

Also the bigger and fluffier it is, the better. In my experience, girls love getting monstrous teddy bears. But if the girl you like is into My Little Pony or BBC's Sherlock Holmes maybe get something related to that genre.

I would love a giant stuffed badger.

That way I would have something to hug as I cry myself to sleep.

I am a sophomore in high school, and I can tell you from my experience that most high school girls love cute stuffed animals.
A word of caution though: You should know this girl pretty well, so you won't come across as creepy.
Oh, and keep whatever tags are on it so it doesn't look used. That would be a bit strange.
I have received dingy stuffed animals before, and I didn't like them so much.

Good luck! Hope I didn't discourage you c:

plushies are fine as long as the recipient is interested in them. I bought my best friend and my sister each a little Hello Kitty plush a couple months ago, and had I not run out of funds ( and had Target not run of of supply ) I would have bought another friend a plush Creeper ( complete with exploding SFX ). As long as there is real thought in it I'd say it's good.
