The OP didn't say anything about disliking women who take care of themselves. He only stated he didn't like makeup.

So apparently you think that a woman who doesn't wear makeup = a woman who has rough-looking skin, dry lips, and unkempt hair? That is a highly untrue, illogical, offensive generalisation to make.

No but Frank did mention that he would rather women show their imperfections and skin problems instead of covering them, people should have the choice to cover them and shouldn't feel judged or any less beautiful for using make up if they aren't naturally perfect. It's unfair genetically for some people to have better skin than others, that's why I think it's fine for men and women to be able to use make up if they need or want to.

Agree. I guess he's stating what he's attracted to. But yeah I would keep an open mind too.

If someone feels so bad about being judged that they would rather cover their physical imperfections it's fine by me. At some point though their partner will find out eventually, you can't wear makeup 24/7. I just think people should that they shouldn't care about being judged physically or not.

All I talked about was the type of woman I prefer physically, and how that didn't even matter to me when I considered whether I like someone or not.

He narrowed his search criteria to not wearing makeup and that makes him superficial? He's superficial because he doesnt want a superficial gf? Jeez. Can't win with you.

Sigh. It's more that he has stupid criteria.
Most guys don't actually like makeup, and as a female, I hate the feel of it. But I do enjoy being able to feel nice by wearing it from time to time.

It's interesting the way guys tend to call "Making an effort to look nice" "taking care of herself".

Who says dyed hair can't feel nice? I dye mine about 2-3 times a year yet the hairdressers always comment on how shiny it is.

And usually "I prefer a girl without makeup" means "I prefer a girl with naturally perfect skin instead". The image in their head of their ideal natural girl looks awfully similar to an airbrushed photo.

Exactly the point I was getting towards, however Frank has said he doesn't mind having a girl with scarring, acne, dryness, flaking and peeling skin so it doesn't apply in this case.

Hmm, actually, now that you mention hair dye I do like girls with dyed hair. And odd coloured nail varnish too. I don't mind the nails and hair looking unreal, it's just the face I don't like being changed.

I don't think it means natural perfect skin though, it's more like I think someone in their day to day life, just hanging around at home and not making a special effort, is more attractive than those times they make a big effort for certain times. Normal looking girls are just nicer looking. Done up girls, they don't do themselves up for themselves or guys, they do themselves up for other girls and they do it in whatever disconnected from reality way that is common at the time. People forget that makeup is for subtle improvements and when most people put it on they go too far and hit the territory of completely unreal looking and that is unattractive to me on a face.

I just like natural looking faces, regardless of anything to do with skin quality. Skin quality doesn't come into it at all, it's not something I notice. I wish people wouldn't second guess and twist that around.

Boo, colourless lip balm is not worn in order to change one's appearance. It's worn just to keep the skin healthy.

Taking care of your skin is not the same thing as painting a fake mask over it. Makeup and lip balm are not at all the same thing, so your comment makes no sense (unless the lip balm is tinted, in which case I'd classify it as "makeup" rather than just a medicinal balm).

Lipstick, on the other hand (also coloured lip balm and coloured lip gloss) is in the category of "makeup" because its sole purpose is to be worn to change the colour of the lips and deliberately deceive people into seeing a false image of the wearer's face that does not exist in reality.

I never wear tinted lip balm, and I never wear makeup, either. All I do is use a face wash to clean my face, and then a moisturiser and colourless homemade lip balm to keep my skin healthy. If people don't like my real face, well, fine. That's their problem, not mine. They don't have to look at me if they don't want to! :)
