She's not being mean. She's trying to say, politely, that she knows he's interested but that she isn't. For her to come out and say she's not interested would be confrontational and rude, and she doesn't want to do that. She also knows that guys will sometimes get aggressive and demanding if they're rejected and she doesn't want the hassle.

He's supposed to take the hint and move on now. Who knows how he turned her off, but he did, and that's all he needs to know.

If someone is interested in you, they will go out of their way to see you, talk to you, or be with you, or. If a legitimate reason comes up that they can't, they will reschedule for another time.

If all you get is excuses and the run-around, then move on, because they are not interested. It would be nice if people would be honest and politely decline, but most find it easier to just weasle out of it, by either not returning phone calls, or giving lame excuses.

"weasel" is the key word here.

Call it weasel or mean, either way, if that and many other train of thoughts like that are considered NT, then I'm glad I'm not considered apart of it!

I don't believe that people intentionally do it to be mean, they just see it as the easiest way out of the situation. The whole problem with it, is that the person on the other end (like yourself) is left hanging, trying to figure out what went wrong.

many folk may consider an "it's over" delivered via email to be cold-blooded, but just freezing somebody out like that without so much as a peep, is even worse, IMHO.
