If you're married - where did you meet?

Hello all - as the title states, if you are married where did you meet your significant other?

I met my wife on Match.com! I was always shy through school and once out of school was a hermit except during hobby time and even then I wasnt out much. I never had much luck with meeting girls that way so my friend talked me into signing up for Match.com. I was having zero luck there as well until I met my wife. We connected through emails and communicated that way for two to three weeks which was fantastic as I much prefer email vs. actual conversation! After that we did speak on the phone for another week or so before finally going out on our first date.

I did tend to hyperfocus all my attention on her as I did my past g/f's but it worked out this time around. We have been married 11 years and have 3 young boys (two of which are on the spectrum) along with two big dogs. We certainly have rough patches now and then as most married couples do but overall we are doing quite well!

I met my wife in a support group, although there were some other group members that kind of helped us get together. Once we started dating we found out that my father was her mother's boss for a while when they both worked for the Department of Defense.

We have been married for 15 years, have a daughter, and probably in general have a marriage with less conflict and arguments than most. Most of our conflict occurs between us and our daughter, not with each other.

You never know where you might meet someone! If something happened and I ended up single again and wanted to get a girlfriend again I would probably do better in on-line sites. I am more of an acquired taste. Females aren't immediately attracted to me for some reason. The on-line format might let them learn something about me before we met in person and whatever weirdness I have became visible.

I met my wife while on IMVU.com , strangely enough. I originally went there to post my poetry which my 1st wife hated & wrote off as "that mushy crap", and my current wife saw my poetry, liked it and sought me out. It took a long time for me to begin to believe her; but after building up enough self-esteem in me, I felt compelled to risk giving it a try. So far so good!
