Hi;
I want to know if anyone can recommend a good place to meet guys? Where would a good place be?

I think a good place would be somewhere that coincides with any interests/hobbies you may have.

The first question is what kind of guys you want to meet and then where they might be. I'm guessing single and/or available are the first prerequisites. But there are so many others after that.

Do you have an interests that still tend to be male dominated? STEM? Programming? SciFi? Sports? Meetup groups about those would be a good place to start.

Once you find a place filled with guys, there's a simple selection I recommend. If you want a guy who believe women should be allowed to pursue what they want, express their own desires, and be listened to, then you make the first move. If a guys turned off by that, he's done you a favor. You'll probably be shocked by how few actually are though.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves her.

Based on you icon, Brony meetups might work. They're not as male dominated as you might think, but still...

Now I'm craving oreos.... :D

And fantasy. Looks like I should have said scifi and fantasy.

Uhh I wanted and now have a guy who believes that of course that was hardly the only trait I was looking for but yes it is important to me not to be in a relationship with a sexist....and I didn't make the first move. Just because a guy makes the first move doesn't mean they think you shouldn't pursue what you want, express your own desires or be listened to.

And what if you're an autistic female like me who cannot initiate interaction with people you don't know IRL, how are you going to ask said guy out unless you already know him in some way or have been introduced and seen them a few times?

I'm in to mlp but like a lot of guys would never go to a meet up even if there was one near by. It's seen as childish and creepy by lot of women I see online and men.

Video games, scifi, card game places, etc if you want a geeky guy, though lots of non geeks play video games.

Bars, clubs, sport shops, sporting games events, if you want a more normal guy.

Guys also tend to go to outdoor stores, it's like what a clothing store is for women.

Then of course there's wp, dating sites, and sites for all of the above

Sorry. Didn't want to imply that us sensitive new age guys never approach women. It's more the observation that in the time it takes a guy like me to work up the courage, the pickup-club psychopath has usually worked half the room. From the woman's perspective it means that the passive approach is unintentionally selecting for the nasties. Of course, there are no guarantees either way. That's where conversation and selection come in.

As for not feeling that you can take the initiative, that's perfectly understandable. Not everyone can. Unfortunately, society still revokes your "man-badge" if you're a guy who can't. I'd like things to be more equal but dumping the same burdens on women isn't the right kind of equal.

There is still a lot of stigma there, but it's generally a safe haven for ASD folks. I think we're used to dealing with enough stigma already. That said, I'm sure I wouldn't have been brave enough to go to Bronycon if I didn't have an eight-year old with me as a "beard."

IT was an eye opener. I've been to a lot of scientific conventions, where ASD population was definitely higher than the national average. I've never seen the efforts for inclusion that I saw at Bronycon, from the ASAN communication cards to the gender-neutral bathrooms. They even accepted the misguided souls who don't accept book horse as best pony. :D

I think the only people who felt out of place were the folks from the pharma convention down the street that walked into the wrong venue. I really wish I'd filmed their reactions. :D

In any case that's a avenue. You might have better luck with online chatrooms at first because of what Sly said. For any kind of fandom, those going to meetups is just the tip of the iceberg, and doubly so with something like MLP. I've heard similar things about the furry community in my research.

If you find a local in a chatroom who you hit it off with, going to a meetup together as mutual cover a good low-key first meeting/proto-date.

There's a lot of circles in your Venn diagram, and there's not going to be much area in the overlapped region. I'd start with the rarest and move outward from there. Just be flexible that you might not get everything.

I may have stumbled on an unorthodox place to meet guys. I had a hard drive failure. Turns out there's usually a dozen guys like me standing outside microcenter during the 10 minutes before it opens. :D
