in both FM radio (KRRR-FM) and also analogue TV with a small cable system in southeast Wyoming.
A recording engineer would have been cool also, but the closest I got was remastering vinyl to CD for radio stations. (My self-inflicted hearing impairment had a lot to do with that). I still remain proud in my disc jockey heritage, though.
My AirForce retiree father was involved in AFRTA (Armed Forces Radio-Television Assoc.) communications back in the 1960's (nowdays I think it's called DVID's?)

I wanted to be an accountant, a bus driver, a post office clerk, a bank clerk, a postie, and in some way involved with radio production.

I'll just post a link instead of an embed: https://imgur.com/a/ZEED8

Blimey, that's some face, and quite a gaze!

I'll second the 'model' remark.

The FM is a class C2 licence, so GROL only applied to the "chief" engineer, and also in the mid 1990's, cable TV engineers did not require any specific designations for smaller systems, however things might have changed since TV went digital. I can name several small towns where cable went "bye-bye" due to the transition.
As for "ham" radio, I'm way too introverted to attempt anything like that. I'll stick to DX'ing when I have free time.

hiya :) and welcome to the club 8) btw if you wanna add photos just right-click atop a pic that you have of yourself on a photohosting site such as photobucket or imgur, select "properties" then on the properties page go down until you find "image path/URL" and click/drag mouse over that line until it is highlighted all the way to the ".jpg" or whatever format it is, then copy that [ctrl-C] then go back here, type [img ](no space) then paste then type [ /img](no space) then post.

Radio: Multi-band "Realistic" (Radio Shack brand) I purchased at a second hand store five or six years ago.
TV: Nowdays has to be done via internet. Rooftop aerials do little to receive out-of-area channels in the digital era. I know some DX'ers still report miraculous HDTV cross-country "skips", but I bet they have thousands invested in equipment.
I believe the most distant live TV station I can receive regularly 24/7 is channel 31 in Brisbane (QLD), Australia:

My Roku permits me to view it on my big flatscreen TV without tying up the computer.

I did further research and found a few wealthy fanatical dx enthusiasts who bought radio station antenna towers on which they mounted phased array antennas, and were able to get lower-channel digital stations [didn't show what quality of dtv reception other than still image screencaps] about 800 miles direct without skip, don't know if it was temperature inversions that were helping them or not. a lot of the screencaps showed evidence of severe drop-outs so I am guessing at that distance that reception will only be intermittent.
