This girl I know who's dad is a widower....well she gets very jealous when women flirt with her father.

Do you think that's a bit weird to get jealous of that kind of thing?

It's not unusual.

I've had girlfriends with kids. A lot of them don't like any kind of competition for a parent's attention. I'd suppose that with her mother gone, she's extra-clingy to her one parent.

If she's into girls maybe she'd rather they give her some attention. That or you're mistaking some other emotion for jealousy - perhaps she's overly protective of her father and is paranoid about these women?

A lot of the women who flirt with her dad are bitchy towards her.

Maybe shes just being emotionally protective of her father. If it's 'normal' I am unsure, but I can see it as being a perfectly healthy reaction.

Well there's your answer then - she's had bad experiences with a lot of these women and is now distrustful of them.

Why might they be bitchy towards her?

No one likes someone discouraging their love interest.

I could see both sides... depends on how involved the daughter is and the ages of the father/daughter to some degree... at least to me.

Some kids don't want their parents to date because emotionally it's hard for them to accept their parent 'trying to replace' the deceased parent... while this is understandable to a degree, if this is an adult child we're talking about, they need to control that emotion as it's unfair and not really their business...

Ok at 16 I think then it's the adults responsibility to be understanding of the young girls protectiveness and emotional state... if she were 26 I'd answer the complete opposite.

How should I know? Ask them, not me.

What does one do when the step parent goes through bouts of aggression and abuse and the entire relatives (uncles, grandmothers, etc.) and children can see what the mother can Also apparently see but is too dedicated to the relationship and chooses to put up with it?

This sh#t among many other things about my living situation and disabilities affect my mental health and I'm not sure If I could just 'nut up or shut up' forever.

Besides, I may be nearly 18, but I can't say the same for my little bro, whom already is intellectually disabled and aspergera and ADHD among many bother difficulties

I fear how much our lives would be ruined if mum were to be gone anyday soon.

Least I am a listed tenant on the lease and he's not so I could legally kick HIM out 1 day at least i think
