I beg to differ with you about Christmas. Perhaps you wouldn't be in such a bad mood if you didn't start this thread. I guess the best thing that you can do now is forget about this thread and don't keep coming back to it if it's going to upset you more.

No I’m super depressed at Christmas and holidays every year. I loved Christmas but I hate it now, i hate being alone, holidays are for family’s and couples. Everything about them is geared towards, pushed towards couples and families all Christmas movies are love movies. Some guy and woman meet and bam few days later they madelunin love and married. Blah being alone all my life killed my Christmas spirit.

I've been single my entire life and it hasn't killed my Christmas spirit. Perhaps, I'm romantically challenged. A lot of Krauts are.

Christmas in America like all holidays is about and fire couples. Single people don’t buy things as they have no one to buy for.
I’m not going race down and buy a expensive necklace for myself. If I had a gf I would g buy one and bunch of other stuff for her.

Honestly i dont know now even if I got a gf now i dont know if I’d ever like christmast or holidays again. I won’t get a gf ever though. I hope more for something to happen thst kills me quickly as thsts more likely to happen in this god awful superficial hell of a country.

So actually futurama Christmas where robot Santa comes to kill you would be a good Christmas.

I wasn’t looking down on single moms I even said so. My mom was single mom, I neber had a dad. Though it’d be better to have a mom and dad in picture that’s not always possible. Most single moms I’ve seen or met work or live with parants and work.
We lived with my grandma until i was in middle school.

See you don’t think I’m dateable or a decent guy either.

It was the way you phrased it. I'm sorry I can't explain that any better right now. Translating my mental images to words just isn't working it seems.

And, sly279, I don't KNOW you. How on earth could I have formed any opinions about your dateability or decency after only reading a few posts from you online? What I can say is that at this moment in time I in no way hold the opinion that you are not a decent human being. How is that?

I really think you need to find different people or something, because I personally think working with advanced technology is amazing (and so do lots of people I know) even if a lot of it is Greek to me and I have gremlins. I also live right by Silicon Valley though, so there might be a bigger trend to look up to tech gurus and such around here.

LOL Talk tech to me! Sorry, this reminded me of a conversation with a friend who has recently purchased a flame thrower. I informed him that, "Hey Baby, wanna check out my flamethrower?" would be one of the best geeky girl pick up lines ever.

I wouldn't recommend it. These memes exist for a reason.

I'll match that with my claymore with a leather wrapped ricasso? Or the multiple katanas? And an old husquvarna pistol and an even older remmington shotgun? (The guns were my dad's and I've never owned guns before, although I've shot some. I still have to figure out what I'm doing with these, but they are pretty.)

But yah, in the right circles that is a completely valid and decent pick up line. The point being if you can be yourself and people appreciate that you'll find a good match.

If I were 15 years younger or if these were the 60s and I was cis instead of trans, I'd go after you. Age didn't matter in the 60s.

Been there. At first they're like, "Oh that's interesting." Then you explain it a little and their eyes glaze over.

Please bear in mind I'm dealing with depression and winter is more difficult for me than any other time of year. I'm having trouble bouying myself up let alone anyone else.

At least the shortest day is over and it's getting lighter now, all be it slowly.

Here's some unbearably cute cats discussing something very important to cheer us all up.
