What led to my success, mostly, was the fact that I decided that “finding a girlfriend” shouldn’t be my main objective.

Before then, women sensed my desperation, and recoiled from me.

Is desperation really that easy to sense? I guess I wouldn't know, given that the inability to sense much of anything from other people is one of the key characteristics of Aspergers.

Women could sense my desperation from a mile away.

Desperation is easy to sense to a lot of intuitive/non intuitive people alike. You can pick up on the tension coming off of the person, their over exuberance seems unnatural and stifling, and their persistence tends to overshadow them just being themselves.

It is the same as with negativity in a way... you can just sense and notice the negative ticks and they push you away.

For instance: The ex I mentioned earlier three days after leaving me decided to go on Snapchat and add some random girl. He kept trying to flirt with her and direct the conversation to flirting... having been sent the conversation and read it, it truly came off desperate and pathetic. The girl ended up noting this to him, and he admitted he was trying to "get over" me and was lonely...........

Desperation even in text.

This was what I was informed was the case by my aunt when I was 19.
Apparently the desperation can be sensed, but not the thoughts accompanying it.
(Unless you blurt them out)

Useful piece of information ultimately, although I didn’t like hearing it at the time.

Attributing super powers to all women is also.... oh boy, sexist!

I always had the opposite problem, I was always thought not much interested in anyone at all.

The world contains a lot of women

The world contains a lot of autistic men

Different women like different things

Some autistic men are married

I am one of those. Took me a long time to get there, though. Didn't have much practice beforehand in terms of previous relationships. The fact that I am married should bring hope to others.

When I was 30, I was renting an apartment, and didn’t even have a driver’s license.

Most 30-year olds have old, used cars, and rent apartments or houses. Many are forced to have roommates for economic reasons if they don’t have a spouse or partner.

I live alone and even in a midwest relatively low cost-of-living area I won't be able to save/afford a house for a looooong time, if ever. Housing costs are so crazy to me. But I also feel like I overpay for my apartment. The cost of living is high no matter where you are. I feel like I make decent money but it would be way better if I could share costs with someone.

I think you need to find a rich man, errr, partner, errr, thing. 8O

Men don’t necessarily like desperate women, either.

Physical attractiveness pushes the boundaries of what is and isn't acceptable.

And if you don’t happen to be a particularly attractive woman, or are at least anything below “average,” you don’t get all the leniencies that attractive women do, just as it is with men. The only real exceptions are when someone wants a relationship just to have sex (and I know it isn’t hard for a woman to find a man who will (seemingly, at least) accept her as long as she’ll have sex with them, but usually women don’t want to be valued only as a reliable source of sex).

Just putting that out there.
