I'm not afraid to be left alone forever, I just know that it will be with me for sure. But there are definitely pluses to be alone, not only minuses.

one of the positives is being able to stick to your own schedule.

Sometimes being on your own can make for less disagreements,as time goes by , but being alone does seem to have its drawbacks at times

Not meaning to be a dark cloud, but it’s worth pointing out that ALL, as in 100%, relationships do eventually end, and something along the lines of half of partners involved in long term relationships will spend the rest of their lives alone. It’s inconceivable that my wife and I would ever part ways. But it will eventually happen. I feel I pretty much accomplished everything I wanted to in our relationship. We have at the very least fulfilled our entire biological purpose by reproducing...a few times, and all that’s left is to decide whether we want to go for one more or be done, wait for our grandchildren, and enjoy what time we have left. That’s really it. Looking back, I’m very happy with how things turned out, so if I ever did end up alone, my memories are enough. Maybe I do feel a tinge of dread thinking about being separated, but terror? Absolutely not!

I think my way is the best way to perceive it. If it happens that you never meet the right person or you just aren’t relationship material, whatever that means, you can’t place the burden and responsibility of having lived a meaningful life on the back of another person. The prospect of a wasted life is much more frightening than a lonely one.

Terrified? As much as it sucks sometimes, there's no other scenario I'm actually used to.

I'm not terrified of it even if it is the most likely outcome.
