Wow, it seems all I do is come on here and ask you guys questions, but you're always so helpful...XP

Anyways, I had a wonderful time last night with my AS friend. He's very sweet and I really care for him a lot. Well, it was cold outside and I was freezing, and my friend and I were sitting together on the way to my house. I couldn't stop chattering, so a woman in the front seat of the car suggested I huddle close to my friend. At first I put my hands up to him like you would to a fire in a joking way. After a short awkward pause, I leaned in to him and nuzzled my head on his shoulder and rested it there. Things sort of fell in to place and we were sitting close together holding hands with my head on his shoulder. In our conversation following, he said he hoped I felt better and we carried on as usual.

Now, my question, because I always have one.
Is this an obvious enough sign for some one with AS that you like them? Or do I need to come right out and say it? I’ve posted threads before asking for advice about my relationship with him and I’ve gotten responses saying the only way he’ll know is if you outright say it.

I'd say that's a pretty clear sign, even for an aspie.

But... did he react at all? Correct me if I'm wrong, guys, but wouldn't even a socially challenged dude at least stroke the girl's hair or squeeze her hand or kiss her forehead or something if he found himself in such a situation with someone he fancied?

Sorry. :( Don't mind me. I'm a cynical party pooper these days.

May seem clear as daylight,
but I've been sexually fondled,
directly invited, hand fed, had
my fingers sucked - all without
getting the clue, or at least trusting
that it was more than teasing.

Sometimes, we can be pretty damned
clueless. Even "I love you" isn't convincing.

But Cal, most of us don't hang out in circles where that sort of behavior is considered appropriate between casual friends.

The MOST obvious was on my
school bus. :P

All that I'm saying is that sometimes
subtle doesn't work. I've gotten better
with age, but still usually won't make
a move, without a LOT of certainty.

Like, I already am sleeping with them.

:P Then how, pray tell, do you get that far? They drug you?

Most aspies seem to open up with very little encouragement, if they like the person doing the encouraging.

Yes. Extreme tiredness or alcohol.

Don't know that I've managed to
really be 'taken' otherwise.

That's really sad.

Mine, of course.
They can be pretty
blatant. My reaction to
such, is often terror.

Which is better than the
violence, that it once was.

I don't like being touched,
unexpectedly.
