You seem to be framing things as though they're pre-determined when ultimately it's a numbers game.
If you take some hypothetical forever alone person and simulate their life a few dozen times, they won't end up forever alone in every single simulation. Sometimes they'll find someone even if it's a statistically rare outcome.
Since you only get to live your life once, if you want to make things happen you need to take the steps required to make those things possible and keep attempting in order to maximize the likelihood of the positive outcome.
If you just tell yourself it's guaranteed to not happen you're really just inventing an excuse to not bother investing the effort. You're entitled to not invest the effort, but that doesn't mean the excuse is more than a rationalization.
