Hi, (oh I only saw Aspie guys in my life but ain't seeing any Aspie girl so here I am) I just want to see whether there are any Aspie girls or ladies out here, I hope to know some of you here... Please share with me more about yourselves... And yeah, don't be offended by my previous comments that seemed to suggest there are only Aspie guys. Now I stand corrected. May I get to know some wonderful Aspie ladies please?

I'm a 24 year old woman diagnosed with AS.

I like Benny & Joon and Spokane and I enjoy doing fanfiction about it. I post them at fanfiction.net. I go by the same name there I go by here. I am not a stereotypical aspie. I see myself as a atypical aspie. I also seem to think differently than other aspies and I am different than they are. I don't have good of hearing as lot of them do or have bad sensory issues. My balance is pretty good and my social skills for an aspie.

I'm 35 and I have both a diagnosis of HFA and AS.

I'm a masculine woman. I have a low voice and I look, act and sound like like Mick Avory of The Kinks without even trying. I enjoy listening to the music of The British Invasion, such as The Kinks, Beatles, Who and The Rolling Stones. I'd rather be watching British Football or Canadian Hockey than watch soap operas or America's Next Top Model. The Austin Powers movies are my three favourite movies, because the main character is a Mod and not a hippie. I like the mid to late 1960s for obvious reasons, and I'm living in a time warp. My ambition in like is to be able to play the drums, the way that Mick played them for The Kinks.

Despite my painful childhood memories, I still see my parents, at least once a week. I don't hold grudges about my past, anymore.

Hi, I'm not surprised you didn't know we existed... the AS depiction in society is riddled with stereotypes, one of the featured ones being that we are all male. There are more males than females, but we certainly exist (in large numbers, might I add).

If you google articles about the different presentation of AS in girls, you'll find some interesting information out there. To summarize, the main differences currently thought to exist between the sexes are that girls with AS tend to have more generalized less obscure special interests than guys (although this is just a trend, and obviously I am not implying that every single girl with AS will be this way), generally are better at imitation in social situations and blending in (thus more likely to "go under the radar") and tend to be more vulnerable to sexual abuse (due to naivety and that sort of thing).

At any rate, I don't tend to think of things so much in terms of gender differentiation. We're all people here. :D

Er yeah, hi, welcome to the forum and all that 8)

Funny you have been on the forum thus long and haven't noticed us.. 8O

I am "assessed" as having Asperger's....but I would probably count as one of the atypical ones...a very ADD-ish Aspie...if not PDD-NOS...
Left-handed/right-brained lifelong obsessed with singing...also obsessed with the ukulele and and making/collecting homemade toys...
I am 34, but act like I am about 12. I don't drive a car, I walk around on my tiptoes...I can be unintentionally rude to people when I am stressed, and if I am out in public, then I am usually stressed.

I own an online herbal business and help run a performance and arts space.

I'm 24 and diagnosed, have been for over 10 years.

I can understand where your coming from, I know no women with aspie traits in real life.

I have known a couple...There has been one very suspect who has been hanging around occasionally, and she is really cool.
I also have an acquaintance who is an extreme ADDer....but her obsessive nature makes her seem a tad ASish.....she is very hyper and outgoing....stream of conscious....flighty....kinda fun and interesting at times..

Irish, not easily recognised as an Aspie I don't think. Even the people I TELL seem to forget it.

I'm a 22 year old female with AS. Generally known for acting like a child at times - easily distracted by sparkly things and pretty music, I like balancing on one leg and avoiding the cracks in the pavement (not at the same time). I've just started a phd in chemistry (scary stuff) and I adore fiction. I never had imaginary friends but I used to spend a lot of time imagining I was someone else and making up people and families and cultures and worlds. These days I've discovered roleplay so that's considered normal behaviour. :)

I am almost 59 and am an Aspie all my life. My physical age has very little to do with my mental/emotional age, though. I still have all the idealism I had when I was 17.

Aw. I was hoping this was finally a "I'm an NT male in love with an Aspie female" thread.

*sigh*

all my husband/lovers/friends have been NT. Matter of fact, everyone I have met before I came to WP were NT. I would imagine a lot of NT men are in love with fascinating Aspie women!
