Do Aspie heterosexual females find NT guys automatically hot because they are the superior race?

According to the Complete Guide to AS, AS women often have a preference for AS men. I don't remember the whys.

That doesn't make any sense. If AS guys are *always* falling for hot NT girls, then wouldn't AS girls fall for NT guys?

From an evolutionary POV, that'd be the natural choice since their children would be likelier to succeed in this NT world.

Superior race?!?!

It's not all about biology so you fancy a partner because you want to be happy, not to produce successful offspring. Guys generally speaking tend to look for high maintenance women while girls are often wiser and want someone they can be fine with. Of course this is just generally speaking.

Usually, producing successful offspring makes you happy. Producing ret*ds kind of makes one on the  side. And, even if you don't produce children, it is still an overwhelming subconscious influence on making mating choices.

Technically, that was not a gesture, but writing. Who_Am_I typed 10 characters and then clicked the mouse (or if in a keyboard-centric browser, typed another 2-3 characters).

This is an entirely different set of movements then the act of reaching up and slapping one's forehead.

It is alarming that you do not see this difference.

Technically, you're right, but realistically, it doesn't matter because the inherent thought process involves gesturing.

In this situation, what she was thinking was...

"Gaaaahd, what an idddiiioooooott!"

And then she imagines slapping her forehead, and then her brain converts that imagined gesture into its verbal equivalent, and then she types it out. The fact she had that thought process of imagining slapping her forehead is indicative of gesture-based thinking.

For example,

*rolls eyes*

Right before I typed that, I was mentally imagining rolling my eyes and, surprisingly, I have the capability of rolling my eyes in real life.

I don't care what someone does or doesn't have if I'm attracted to their personality.

I actually find most NT guys unrelateable. They have to be at least a little bit quirky in order for me to take island interest in them.
And as for the whole gesture thing, I do that too, lol. But of course, I'm on the adapted side of the spectrum. Just because someone uses gestures does not automatically make them NT or aspie, etc. It's odd how easily one could make such a great inference out of that simple remark. It's a movement associated with a thought. Why should that have to represent anything? Especially something rather disproportionate in significance.

Swbluto: also, the mods generally do not like it when people dispute another's diagnosis.

There are many things wrong with telling Who_Am_I :

swbluto wrote:

For instance, it is an attempt to dispute one's diagnosis. Over the use of a textual mannerism which has been long divorced from its physical denotation. Over the internet.

It is also being dismissive of someone due to one's belief regarding their neurology.

It is, finally, not very funny if it was a joke. This is why people using the internet have evolved emoticons such as :) and ;) which communicate sarcasm and such even if they are very unlikely to properly use such facial expressions in real life.

Does the use of an emoticon qualify as "gesture-based thinking" and so repudiate a diagnosis of AS?*

* That was a rhetorical question.

That's a great question, actually! And since it is a great question, I'll ignore its rhetorical intent because it is worthy of investigation! If you use emoticons in a sensible way like I do to communicate a particular emotive state in a dynamic way, then of course it does! You notice that almost no "actual aspies" on the forums make regular use of emoticons in an effective way appropriate to the context.

Like, you know, it was sunny outside when I woke up and I was like... :D ... and I then saw a giant ant standing in my front lawn. 8O So, I decided to grab my flamethrower hanging in my closet and I attacked it like a  and it finally died and all of its family was  over its death. But, still, I was pretty 8) for having killed a giant ant with my flamethrower. I knew it would come in use one of these days!

(Please tell me, was my claim there pretty ridiculous? I'm wondering if my story is some *definite* indication that I clearly don't have aspergers. I'm pretty serious about that because I'm clueless as to "who I am" and for all my mysterious past and ongoing social difficulties, and it seems like aspergers is one possible explanation, but I can't really tell how 'autistic' I "truly" am.)

Yes, there are male Aspies who find NTs attractive, and female Aspies who find them attractive. But I think most people are indifferent as to who they end up with, and are just attracted to whoever they're with, regardless of their neurotype status.
