I really, really would like to be a wife and mother someday. That is my dream. Is it possible for a person with Asperger's to have children? If it's not, maybe I should just buy some more smokes. Or, end it all now. What's the point of living? My life is hopeless!

I had a child, and she was raised well. I often got compliments from people on what a great job I was doing with her.

My husband and I have 3 kids. I'm the NT in our marriage. He gets complemented all the time on his knowledge and understanding of his children (9 year old a 7 year old with AS and our 1 year old is NT as far as we can tell right now) I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.

Are you implying this would be desirable?

I think he means that it could go either way, and whether a child is an Aspie or NT is left entirely to chance.

I think I would like to have a child one day, but it is up to the great Fertility Goddess as to whether I will have one or not. Possibly it is not meant to happen for me.

Considering how overpopulated this species already is, I wouldn't beat yourself up over not having children. There are plenty of other ways to live a productive and satisfying life.

I have four children so far, and more babies are on their way. :D

I can't see any reason why having Asperger's would hinder someone's having children. Even if there were severe problems that would hinder touching, there are other means of insemination that can be applied.

Of course you can have children! Why are you worried? Is it finding a partner, actually raising the child, having a NT child while you yourself are autistic? Pray to tell

Yes it's possible for aspies to have kids. Lot of members here have children already. I have one already.
