3 minutes, that's all what you have!!

But it's just a study.

Luckily, men aren't that way. They take days, if not months, to decide.

I'd be more interested in a study that proves whether three minutes is long enough to make a *wise* decision...

Hm. Ten seconds to check his bank balance, ten seconds to check his social popularity - what do they use the other two minutes 40 seconds for?

What a silly conclusion. I certainly can't speak for all women (or even most) but it can take me days, months, years to decide such things. I'm also fickle and have decided I do like someone after all.

Generally not the other way around, though. If I decide I like someone, I rarely change my mind.

Id have no issue with this if women would give you the results after 3 minutes so you dont keep wasting time

I thought it was supposed to be more like half a second? Take one look at him and decide if he's The One. :P

Boo, it's the Daily Mail. my grandma is a more reliable source than that.

also, iirc they support Wakefield. so there you go.

i can't find reference to that study anywhere except in that article. it seems to have been a survey. not sure if it is legitimate or not.

i think people do make an initial assessment quickly, yes. i do think people do feel attraction (or lack of it) very fast, but i think it is flexible and not set in stone.

I have to admit I would be one to judge someone in 3 minutes to know if they are right for me or not. I tend to also find my true friends this way too. I guess I just know who I would be compatiable with without wasting everyones time :)

I do believe that anna-banana and Vigilans just made my evening.

Joking aside though, I'm always sceptical of the way these bits of 'science' are used to prove a point...there's lies, there's damned lies and there's statistics and all that. Discounting the usual stuff about sample sizes, statistical significance, emphasis on certain parts of the study's conclusion...ok, I'm veering to far into "Stand back I'm going to try SCIENCE" territory here, so I'll just say it's the Daily Fail we're talking about here. It reminds me of the Daily Mash and their frequent quotations from the Institute for Studies...

I think women are a little more complex than that. We are not robots "Must seek target-> Find: Rich; Handsome; Own House; Good Job; Wears Suit; -> Date Male -> Marry Male -> Mission Accomplished.

Of course not! You forgot 'have kids with male'.
