I'm just curious how much you typically end up spending on a date. I know it depends, but I'm interested in how it usually goes for others, if you don't mind.

Holy crap, that's expensive!!

If it's the first date, she and I usually pay separately. Anything beyond that is rarely more than $40.

may i ask how you manage that?

thats a large figure.

I dont know if i congratulate you on your income or commiserate you on the money = sex frame. May i ask what you do?

There is no answer to this question.

Depends. Some best dates are free some worst dates are very expensive - i know my highest limit was over 1k - loooooooooooooong distance. It was "successful" but not worth it

Haha! I misread the meaning of the question and immediately thought you meant time.

Between $10-40 depending on what we do. I only go outside that range if I either reeeaaaallly liked the person or if it was something we both reeeaaallly wanted to do.

Anywhere from $0 to a couple hundred. It depends on what we're doing and who I'm with. Some people I've dated really prefer to pay for themselves, but I don't let dates pay for my share of the cost of the date. I like to pay for both, especially if I did the asking, which usually is the case.

I don't get to go on a lot of dates with my girlfriend, our schedules seem to be in constant conflict with one another. We mostly have four a.m. coffee dates in her car, in my driveway, before she goes to work. Because if she comes in we'll end up causing her to be late for work.

It's... yeah I don't have an average.

It was either Engineering or Medicine, and an MSEE degree is quicker and cheaper than the med school/internship/residency route, and I had to work my way through uni without help from my parents or scholarships.

Our combined income allows plenty of room for discretionary spending without sweating the budget.

The last place was in San Diego (~300 miles round trip), in the Gaslight District, with an overnight stay at Motel 6. The place before that was in Santa Barbara, with similar accommodations. Before that, it was Las Vegas, where we won just enough at the tables to break even on the trip.

Why, did you think I was some twenty-something loser still living with his parents?

meems... is that you in that photo? you are a cutie.

I find my first dates usually range from 0-100 dollars. I find it usually ends up being split down the middle.

who is "our"?

I figured the question was for single people? Its no doubt good things are fresh enough for an LTR night out to be a date but I dont think the OP was shooting at that - I'm not sure.

You have been to vegas. That is a place I wanna see!! Hopefully some boxing.

Thank you for the other answers. Considered an OU engineering degree recently. I'm on the fence.

I thought 50 was a lot! Damn Fnord.

I try to keep it 40 and under. But that's me, I'm kinda poor right now.

Anywhere from $0 (if we're just going to the beach or to each other's house or something) to $50 (if we're going to a bar, drinks are expensive). But usually it's around $20.

After reading what Fnord just wrote, now I'm seriously considering moving to another country...
