Say what you actually mean - "I like a woman to make an effort to not look repulsive to me".

Opinions?

This is a major offender on most dating sites.

In my experience it's code for "no fat chicks".

I think it's code for, "I want a slim woman who smells nice."

Or it's code for
"No unshaven legs"

and

"Farts that smell like vanilla".

The next person on any dating site that says that I am going to call out. I could use a laugh.

How do we know that it doesn't mean "is independent, in a stable career, and not very insecure"?

I took care of myself by engaging in a good school carrier, having an acceptable middle class job, being able to do repairs upon my house and renewings mostly on my own, being able to change, oil wheels and snow chains on my car...

With that experiences, I can ensure you, that most people wanting to take others "to take care of their selves" dont mean that they want other to take care of theirselves (= engaging in relevant stuff that benefits them) but simply want to manipulate others in taking care of non-relevant stuff, that they themselve have no benefit from, but pleases the manipulator.

I specially love it when my overweight, shit-stuff eating, with cosmetic self poisoning mom in law refers to me, why "I dont take care of myself as she does". XD

Takes care of herself:

Doesn't go crazy with any kind of drugs.
Doesn't go crazy with junk food and other s**t that's bad for you food-wise.
Engages in a modicum of physical activity.

Any questions, ladies?

My first thought was that she takes showers.

It's code for "I'm a shallow @sshole, ladies. I'm looking for arm candy. I probably have trouble with emotional intimacy, and will check out the waitress every time we go out to eat. You've been warned."

:D

Yes, they want someone slim, who does their hair and makeup every day, even if they're not going out anywhere.

It means a woman who pays her own bills, does not eat a lot of choccolate because of sweet cravings, and puts a little effort into her appearance. A lot of men spend hours in the gym every week; wanting a woman that takes care of herself is not shallow.

The idea of repulsiveness exists only in your mind. Much like love.

Why is it other peoples concern, where you decide to spend your time? ^^ Noone forces you to spend hours in a gym, if its no fun to you. So why should I do similar? And if its fun to you, its ok to go there. But why should others feel forced to do stuff, that is no fun to them, only because you do stuff, that is fun to you? ^^
